I'm feeling kind of lazy but am tired of aimlessly browsing riu, so I'll post some pics of my FIRST GROW now and gradually fill in details as time goes on/ people sub.
I have a bag of seeds of a west african variety thats give crazy powerful head high. Growing for fun, and because i dont know where to find any similar strains here.
Too broke to buy bud or to invest heavily in the grow, so chose to use cfl and buy one or so each week as my plants got larger.
Used several items I already had lying around.

Plan:
Flower these babies as quickly as possible without getting caught or spending much.
Dont really care about yield, Just want to get bud asap :weed:

Grow room - 5x5x2 ( lined with Mylar)
Lights - 1x85watt(5500k) 2x65watt(2700k) 2x105watt(2700k) total: 425watts actual cfl
Medium - Organic soil
Nutes - Fox farm trio
Total cost spent on materials(lights/nutes/seeds/etc) ~ $200 (TOO MUCH MAHNEEEEEEY!)

Germinated at least 10 seeds using paper towel method. then moved to rapid rooter plugs while
waiting for money to set things up..

Some died right of the bat due to weak genetis/ newbie carelessness. Ended up with 6 in total alive and 2 runts.
Threw em in MG soil... then read that it was bad for them and quickly switched to organic.
Started Under 26watt cfl:

Got Flowering bulbs and switched to 12/12 WAY too EARLY:

GNATS begin to appear, added buku ventilation:

Sometimes They get bored of the CLFs, so I throw them in the sunlight coming from my window.
002.jpg001.jpg008.jpg013.jpg

MUTANT stopped growing taller(stunted?), lots of tiny suckers on base of stem!!

Last remaining Runt Shot up and began to grooow:

3 weeks into 12/12.
1 male and......3 FEMALES!!!
:hump:
035.jpg019.jpg

Uprooted male/Inspected root system, performed "experiments" on plant after pruning all pollen bearing stems.
Kept alive by dunking rootball in nuted water periodically
008.jpg015.jpg029.jpg043.jpg012.jpg017.jpg001.jpg

Hairs finally sprouting. Decided to Prune Suckers and grow clones(as an experiment, I wont enough time to actually finish them):
042.jpg018.jpg 025.jpg026.jpg036.jpg

Performed "Experiments" on Mutant, after knocking pot/soil over by accident and breaking main stem:
009.jpg growing new leaves 4 days after accident!!!! 014.jpgWhat a resiliant plant
M

Few More Pistols on the runt:
038.jpg041.jpg

Runt Promoted to LAST HOPE(put in center stage for the most light):
046.jpgMY GREAT GREEN HOPE, please dont fail me...

I ABSOLUTELY NEED TO HARVEST IN 50 DAYS BEFORE I MOVE TO NEW APT,
HOPE I CAN FINISH BY THEN.

WILL UPDATE POST EVERY FEW DAYS.

I decided to add mylar to the floor, and its really boosted the brighness in of my grow. Mind you, the camera adjusts to bright light, but I assure you its beaming in there.

I may not get to harvest. I only have about 5 or so weeks left to flower at this point, but i do see another grow in the future, now that i have acquired some knowledge and the equipment

I rushed to taped 3 of the breaks within seconds after they happened, but the leaves begun to look dead literally seconds after it broke, and now they look even more dry/lifeless

that is very disappointing, surprised, but every plant/strain has its quirks

Yea it was my most promising plant too, i was banking on it being the only one that would be able to barely finish, the others have put out only half as many pistols, and dont seem to want to flower at full force yet.
Now all i have to show for my countless hours are sparse stems and leaves. I dont even feel like finishing this fucking thing and wasting more time on it when theres only like three popcorn buds to be had IF my plant even decides to keep flowering after losing its most mature growth. What a great idea it was to prune the lower buds RIGHT before my light comes crashing into the top ones leaving me with virutally nothing, fucking stupid.

switching to 18 hour day 6/12 cycle to see if i can speed things up. Not sure how my stressed plant is doing at this point.
Just trying to focus all my energy on getting the center plant to give me something smokable in 45 days since its been throwing pistols for a week.
you guys think its possible?

i'm no expert of sativa's, at least not recent ones, did use to do mexican and columbian bagseed grows outdoors
sativa's don't like to move quick on flower, so let's say you've got 2 weeks of flower going(from the pics)
8 weeks of flower will not be the best, but sure, it will be better than nothing
big issue is how edgy will it be? immature weed can be unpleasant, but the genetics do vary
it's worth the chance

Next time you drop a light and have broken stems try sticking them in a cup of water asap. One of my plants was dying when I woke up once and I put her and water and she got happy real quick haha

yea good thinking. I have an emergency vase full of sugar water just for that purpose. The problem is it was still handing by a thread, I taped it right back rather than rip it of and have to deal with re-attaching it in the right orientation.
