Thanks gastanker for giving thr me the link to making a jounal. On my phone amd was not able to find it. So I'm using roots organic with a little soil from the ground. I went outside and my dimensions were off. Its about 4x6, 2 1/2 deep. I have 5.fems from an online site. Two seedlings in under a cfl. Waiting for the weather to get better before I start the other three. Seedlings are about 1 1/12 weeks old. Will post pics in a few days. HereIMAG0520.jpg is a before and after pic of my little area. I had stated in my journal that I am worried about my lighting outside. I still am. So I was thinking about painting the area bright.white for a little more brightness. Will update soon. Thanks. Comments and suggestions more than welcome.

bright white paint?damn i wouldnt have thought of that, plus gives you around 80% reflectivity compared to aluminums 64%good luck man ill be here every step of the way

Yeah I'd say that's somewhere a lot of outdoor growers don't venture..........reflectivity.

I want to ask you man....Have you figured your light angles with change of season included in your calculations? There's a lot of wall there so you really need to think about getting at least 8 hours of direct sun a day.

Either way. Good luck. :peace:

Thanks guys. It's a greenhouse missing all the windows lol. So I'm gonna try and get some visqueen, if thats how you spell it, and help keep it humid. Is that a good idea? Are either of you guys doing a grow at the moment?

Well, I'm thinking about 8 maybe ten hours of shaded light. A few indirectly. Had light problems a few years ago but fromy experience I found that if it's not dark my plants veg til about late july. Yeah I figured the white might help a little. Few direct hours of sun*

Keeping it warm early on is a good idea for the area so the visqueen might be beneficial early on. Later into the summer you'll have terrible mildew issues with it. My greenhouse with all vents open was just sweltering with heat and humidity.

I was growing in the pines and my patch didn't get much light and yet my plants did pretty well. Don't expect monsters with indirect light, but at the same time you can grow some bud.

Ok. Thanks. Makes sense. Do you know about how large your girls got and what you pulled? I'm hoping they dont bud early either

Oh and what about bud density? Lol, so many questions but kinda curious. Hoping to use my grow to pay some bills

I only attempted outdoors once up there and half way into it the neighbors kids decided to get nosy so I moved my plants indoors. I received very limited light and they are in mostly natural soil here but three of them damn near filled up my 6x12 green house before flowering. My buddy one town north of you grew monsters with some direct light. Ony picture i have of that grow -

Gonna go with day 10 today. Doing ok. Transplanted them into 1 gallons. Jimmy rigged a light set up. I saw a guy using a baking pan for a reflector. Asked my mom and she had one. The hard part was finding another light fixture. Parents said I could borrow theirs until I buy one. Really awesome for the moment. Both cfls are 23 watters. One is smaller than the other so I'm thinking one is older. But for now they will do. Put them in my closet. Before they were in a wicker like trunk. Worked until I needed another light and after transplant. So this is what I got for now. Oh, transplanted and didnt use nutes yet. I have had success before with transplanting seedlings very young and no shock. Usually recover by the end of the night. Any thought on the last bit? Hipefully I'll still be right and no.major shock tomorrow. IMAG0521.jpgIMAG0522.jpgIMAG0526.jpgIMAG0527.jpg

i cant totally relate to you usin the lamp fixture, gotta handle biz and you know the plants appreciate everything they get.its a good and seldom chose decision to hold off on nutes at least until theyre 3 weeks veg,and even then they can totally do without them.its gonna be interesting to see these outdoors coming from inside.and to reduce strecthing u can place ur cfls 2-3in. away. they can be even closer id just be a lil weary since theyre just little things atm.
oh yeah what cycle you using 24-0,or 18-6

i understand needin dirt and usin from outside but you might wanna check what u brought in for pests other than the tiny little white bugs that are pretty much in everything.

Shit I didnt check the dirt. But I used my hands to move the soil around didnt notice anything. Hopefully it will be ok. Have one bag left so I'll make sure and check before I use it thanks man. Will do that from now on. As for the lights they are about 1 1/2 in above the seedlings. Put them outside today. They should do ok. I did a grow where I had a plant under 4 foot fluorescent lighting for a few hours then sunlight, until I killed it by removing too much soil when transplanting. Face palm.

i know that feeling, and if u wanna kill the bugs put ur dirt in an airtight plastic bag(preferably black)and leave it in the sun til it gets real hot inside, itll bake em dead

Ok sweet sounds good, I'll definitely start doing that. Dirt is in the whole. Early about two weeks but I figure the rain will get it evenly moist. Also I can see if any hugs are hopping around. Im just hoping it starts staying sunny soon. Lol early but I'm impatient.
