Suboxone question,

I have been on suboxone now for about 10 days now & its working good. Now my question is, can I still take my norcos & fentanyl patches & get off on them like u can on methadone, or will I just b wasting all of it ??? Cant help it its a boring rainy sat. & I just want to catch a buzz, but don't want to waste a 100mg patch & 25 #10 hydros.

No you won't catch much of a buzz when you're on subs. And then after you do the fent and hydros, if you take another suboxone, it will throw you into precipitated w/d.

Yeah bupe has a much higher affinity for the opioid receptors so teh other drugs can't compete and displace them. Once the majority of your receptors are occupied by bupe the other opioids can't affect you. Trying to break through is not just wasteful but also dangerous because you're consuming so much to try to shoot through the blockade it's really easy to over shoot the mark.

Thanks for all ur honest responces, I was just bored today & took the last of my subs & cant get any Dr's to refill them unless I drive 70 miles everyday to get them so I just want to c about catching a buzz since Im bored here in BFE & all I have is my scripts of fentynal & norcos. But at least we have a liquor store since the cops raided our complex again & Im not growing for awhile.

Well it'll take 24-36 hours before opioids wills work at all and more like 72 to get full effect. It's worth the drive if you're going to end up doing something you'll later regret. One of the best features of bupe is that it gives you a day to think about using before you can. I'd suggest the liquor if you want to catch a buzz. Also you can keep taking more bupe, all it's going to do is make the side effects worse.

Ya I have been on the stuff the last 20 yrs of spine surgeries & I just lied to myself in that I quit shooting 25 yrs ago & thought this was ok cause the Dr gave it to me. What a crock. The subs r actually working real good except Im in more pain, but I will have to just deal with it. The drives out for me cause its almost $90.00 for a round trip so that's out of the question, that's the hazards of living in BFE. Im just hoping something comes thru for me this week.

No taking more bupe won't result in more central effects but the side effects get far worse. 16mg of bupe a day made heroin look like a fucking laxative.

I had been taking 24 twice then three times a day & never felt a buzz so since then dropped down to 16 once a day & its working great. I had hopes yesterday of wanting a buzz & glad I didn't wast anything. From the way things r going maybe I can get off all this shit this month ???

If you want to get off of them, then you should try to taper down as much as possible.... taper to about 1 mg every day or every other day. Or even less if you can. Tapering is difficult. You have to get rid of that desire to catch a buzz, and focus more on sobriety and wanting to quit. Tapering down will be rewarding in the long run when your withdrawals aren't nearly as bad as they would have been otherwise. And always remember that your mind is stronger than anything that this world can throw at you.

Hey Skuxx, thanks for the advice. I haven't had anything today so tomorrow will b the deciding factor in this if my unrealistic goal is possible or not. I don't think an every now & then buzz will b too bad or not. I think if I can move back to Cali where herb is now legal that will solve this problem seeing that it helped my pain more than the drugs ever did & I donnt smoke a lot either, I just love growing it.

It definatly is possible...But as stated, take it slooow! I have been on suboxone for about 5 years now and havnt been able to get off it simply for the fact that I feel I am not ready. I am on 8mg a day. I have dropped to 6 but it was difficult. Im going to try drop soon because I really want to get off this shit...

Im dragging ass & need one or the other & being that it doesn't look like Im going to get a Dr without driving to St. Louis it looks like its back to what my pain Dr gives me

Im not fortunate enough to live around a big city like u Schyulaar & the only other way for me to get them is to buy them off the street, & I wont do that. My Uncle Brian, a proud US Marine who served his country came back hooked on H, did the same thing you are doing with "patches", methadone and such.. we received a call on a Thanksgiving that he'd OD..just saying.
