Thanks for subbing up Brotha Dawg! We got a real party now. Thanks for the info on that... I've had mixed inputs regarding light height with these. I accidentally let the plants get to within 15" the other day with no ill effects but quickly backed them off to ≈17". I've been checking leaf tops with an IR temperature gun and seeing ≈82°. These do radiate some energy don't they.....

Thank you, sir, for all tips and answers to all my questions. I'm even more jazzed about this project if that's possible.

Pcinta, glad to help. Hempy is a great way to get into hydro if you've been growing in soil. It grows some awesome plants quickly for what you put into it. You ought to swing by the WOH "World of Hempy" thread. Lots of nice folks to share with and lots of help there too. Everyone is cool, almost family like...never a flame in 630 posts.

Day 1 flower, girls stretched 2" over the dark period. Leaves during first light were pointing upwards as if rejoicing. Towards the end of their first 12hour light period, the growth tips were back to being floppy and lazy. They have been that way since clones so no worries about the intense light.

Pcinla, I just realized that both my WOH sister Who-kie and I misspelled your name..sorry no offense.....we were both under the effects of "hempy weed"....so when you delve into that hempy bucket project just remember it's a game changer. Then there's "hempy fever" which you will experience later on when you walk through stores wondering if you could drill a hole 2" from the bottom of every object you see and grow something in it..

Thx for the compliment FJG! All of us on the WOH thread will get you going when you make the move....we're there for you.

I took the day off off since today marks 8 weeks flower on my Blimburn Seeds "Mango" (yes I took down the Crazy Miss Hyde a few days early). Everything was aligned with the moon, stars & trich's color so I took down the major colas in hopes of catching the lower buds tomorrow. This gem was a freebie from Attitude...she'll go at least 4oz cured. I remember lots of flaming threads here on RIU...."you can't grow big buds with LED's"...."you can't yield anything in a 2gal bucket...you need 5gal buckets". Funny I never joined them or replied....I just kept to myself and did my own thing. Here's what I get by doing my own thing and on a regular basis.

Day 2 of flower. They've reached the 24" mark so stretch has been a nice gentle 2" per day so far. I've had strains that went 4" per dark period so hopefully height is manageable with Skywalker OG. An interesting trait for this strain is the paper thin leaves with deep verigations. Color is a deep olive drab like the old WWII warplanes. Size of these girls in the tent are deceiving when I look at the pictures...here's a shot of a fan leaf in comparison to my hand.

A fellow "Hempy brother" WattSaver and I like to show our root zones when we dump buckets for cleanup. He and I both saw the phenomena with coco mediums where a perlite reservoir showed no root proliferation. It doesn't happen in smaller 2 liter applications, only in bigger buckets where the roots have a "choice". So with the Mango and Crazy Miss Hyde drying and curing I dropped the plug's from the their buckets to show the root proliferation into the reservoir zone using the smaller 1/2" Grodan mini-rockwool cubes. I'd say it's a big improvement over perlite reservoirs. It would be fun to see if you can reuse this easily...I'll wait for this to dry out thoroughly and chop off the rockwool part and see if it works in my next grow. Cannazyme will disolve the old roots and make food of them.

Jesus those are some huge fan leaves, i don't get why i don't get fan leaves like that my leaves are typically smaller than the palm of my hand...

Brotha Dawg, if your watchin, note that my previous post of the root zone did not mention "root porn". You "own" root porn Brotha Dawg.....I only wish I could run DWC in my hot climate....maybe I'll give it a jab during winter one year.

psilo, when I grow "hybrids" I always get these huge indy honkers down low. But, by grows end I wind up with needle thin fronds all round the upper plant. As always, these lowers will yellow and drop off if I don't pluck'em mid-grow. This will be an interesting strain to watch....supposedly a mix of sativa and OG so I don't plan on the fatties staying around unless I get a short Indy pheno out of these. We could be surprised and get a couple of whoppers with fatties all around. I love growing different strains....and smoking them in comparison. I really wonder if I could ever find that perfect plant with the perfect high and grow them over and over again.

Ahh makes since it does seem like i had a lot of bigger leaves at one time, i was starting to wonder if i had a nutrient deficiency or something.

No worries, man, it's only an acronym! Thanks to you, as well as other threads I've read, I've already got a serious dose of Hempy Fever. I was washing out a big Kraft Peanut Butter container the other day, and I thought: "%$#@+! The perfect Hempy container for the veg closet!" And it's brown so you don't have to worry about light getting to the roots. I've already got the flower buckets cased: dark, two-gallon containers for $2 apiece at a dollar store. Just have to catch up with a friend who has every power tool imaginable to bore holes in the containers one night. Flower closet is full for another month anyhow.
