The problem is, when a person in his position tries to get something done in government they need the support of many others. Many others who don't respond as well to his brashness.

Man he isn't trying to accomplish shit, his budget means my property taxes will go up more and more....shifting taxes is not a tax cut......

Property taxes are mostly for public education. Even in new Hampshire, where there is no income or sales tax, public education was 70% of my property tax bill. The town got the next biggest percentage. The county and state didn't get very much.

You have to cut government services if you want to reduce taxes.

All I know is that I am paying too much in taxes, and I am not getting very much in return.

You are getting a society, one that you seem to feel is stable enough to invest in starting a business and buy a home. What more do you want, really?

You are getting roads, school and emergency services. You are getting cleaner air and water. You are getting bald eagles and wolves and hopefully salmon. You are getting the most powerful (and expensive) military on the planet - so when the shit hits the fan environmentally you have a better chance of survival than the world's six billion other inhabitants. All in all, it's a hell of a deal.

Not really. I just feel it's complete bullshit when people say they get nothing for their taxes. There's plenty of real-world examples of what low overall rates of national tax collection get you - they are called third world nations.

If Juju had said the middle class is being taxed to death, i would have said nothing. If he had said that the wealthy are trying to balance the fix the deficit on the backs of the middle class and poor, i would have agreed completely. It's not like i love taxes, but i understand what they get us.

I know what my taxes are paying for, and I don't like it.

I don't want to pay to keep 25% of the worlds prison population behind bars.

The military is at least 10 times too big.

Governments mostly just get in the way. They want a cut any time money changes hands. 30% of my pay is taken before my paycheck is even written

Government is a necessary evil, at best.

I also don't want to pay for military adventures and killing innocent people around the world. But that's just me.

I'd like to see taxes reduced for everyone.

I can't disagree with that. We are no longer the home of the free or the land of the brave. That is the downside of what our taxes pay for. The upside is that a government of, for and by the people is fixable. We just need more people to get more involved in fixing it.

so much this! we often forget that real change only happens when enough people stand up for what they truly believe in rather than hoping someone else does it for them. i will grant you that one person cannot accomplish a whole lot on their own , but with a convincing enough argument .... hold on!

revolution one mind at a time.

Don't even go there with taxes lol that's one of the many reasons I'm buying this place in Maine, And leaving nj....
before I found this house I almost bought a town house in nj 0 property/privacy and taxes were 8k a year plus 280 a month in hoa fees

And for what a 3 year mandatory minimum in nj for 1-10 plants forget that 😄
this new place I am in the process of getting on around 3 acres and taxes are about 2k or a little under I can live with that especially if the state is doing things I like.

But like Maine Brookies said nothing changes till people talk and fix the issues and get involved...
Ron Paul opened a lot of people's eyes last year to the corruption and greed in politics and media even more so then in 2008 I'd say rand has a good shot at 2016

The only thing Rand Paul has a chance to do is cause a GOP civil war.

Racist Ron and his boy Rand are nothing but a political sham - for example, they are both perfectly fine with Prohibition as long as the state, not the feds, is doing the Prohibiting. They are federalists, not libertarians. Federalism was a decent idea in the 19th century but is not relevent to the modern world. Today, federalism is just a corporatist euphemism for "race to the bottom".
