Busted - time to cry :(

Sounds like an excellent plan ^

Lessons learnt for the future:

1) Only grow in your own home

2) If you can smell it, anyone can smell it.

As for recovering the plants... they threw them on the fire, plant pots and all :(

I'm a parent of three, and I would do the same thing to my kids if I caught them. Out on your ass.

But I can still feel sympathy for the kid and the amount of time and effort that goes into growing weed.

Was he wrong? YES. Kiddos, don't grow anywhere that's not your own property. You jeopardize others with that one selfish act.

quite frankly I can't find the sympathy these other guys do, I'm pretty sure you were aware of the outcome if they found the weed, you put them in danger by choosing to grow weed illegally I'm assuming . busted isn't when mom and dad catch you with some weed, busted is when the pigs come in military style and flashbang you in your underwear, this is busted. man up sounds like it's due time.
I'm with you. My daughter is grown now but she had the guts to come out and tell me she smoked. She THOUGHT I did but she was not sure as we did not do it openly when she was young. Not in front of her. So she asked one day if what she had seen me smoking at a 4th of July bike party was pot. I was honest and said it was but to keep it kind of our secret for now (she was 12 then). A couple years later I smelled some and asked who was puffing and she admitted it. I let her smoke at home (she has had multiple surgeries for neuro and spine).

UI might have felt much differently had I been forced to discover it. I was a nurse at a psych unit prison in Texas and a bust would have had me swap sides of the bars.

If the kid didn't ask it was because he knew ahead of the time that his folks would say "No". So he just cut around them and got whacked. You play? You pay.

I envy you your honestly with your children, this is the policy I will adopt.

Sadly my parents are stuck in the 1940's, dont know anything about weed, dont want to know anything about weed.

Its all evil drugs, though they both drink whisky fairly regularly.

Oh, they definitely know about weed if they're 'stuck' in the 40s.. that's make them early-mid 20s in the 60s. :D

yeah ok , I may have been a little straight to the point. the plants looked good, glad you've learned and look forward to seeing your journal in the future.still no sympathy but understanding.
Yeah it's easy to sit on your legally complient high horse with your own house and the freedom to grow and point out my failings.

The sad thing is your right, I should not be growing in my parents house but what option did I have?

Weed is expensive.

I am young and poor.

If I want to smoke, I need to grow.

Now you're talking. By being honest with mine she was naturally honest with me. Had she chosen to be an anti-drug person she would still have known I did and that decision would be hers.

Be as honest with your children (and others) as you want them to be with you. Works great a lot of times.

Dude - laugh with us. Then nobody is laughing at you. It's not funny to you. And you know what? Many are picturing themselves in your spot. My mom found a 1/4 pound and threw it away when I was 15. In Texas, at that time, a single joint was a 3rd degree felony and people (mostly black or brown men and boys) were routinely locked up for YEARS for an ounce or more. My mom asked if I wanted her to lose our only home. Hell no I didn't. She explained about forfeiture, made a new enemy of government out of me and I was honest with her after that. She still wouldn't let me keep my smoke in the house but . . . ..

This was in the Age of Dinosaurs. Or 1965 to be more exact.

Yeah i'm sure i'll look back on this in some months when i've moved out and laugh.

However at the moment RAGEARRGHWHERESMYFUCKINGPLANTADKVKWFC£VJ!

;)

Yeah the laws here are slightly less insane than that!

Here the sentancing guidelines for less than 9 plants and a first offence is a fine.

Valuable life lessons learned.

1: Don't grow in parents house
2: Control smell, light and noise
3: If you must break rule #1 follow rule #2

+rep for even trying to handle it better. This will be a good thing in many ways. When you're close to my old age you will see. The same fire burns trash and hardens steel.

i still go into cold sweats thinking about the possibility of my door getting kicked in by the drug squad as my neighbours look on.Even though for me it will also be a small fine for my set up.They go in expecting to find big setups and the police operation that will swarm your house will look hella bad for you and your family ,and theres the damage to your door and the overall scaryness ..

add to that as brim says ,your mom crying and your dad ready to tear your head off..

doesnt seem worth a bit of smoke.

haha, I see you caught it - good eye.. tis good that your parents are ok with it, good to keep them informed so if they visit and smell skunk or diesel.. you don't have a raging father ripping things open looking for 'that smell' while your mom looks around with the 'what the hell are you doing?' look.
