In the box you type in, you will see 5 icons above it on the far right of the row... link/unlink/insert image/insert video/quote tags .. the insert photo looks like a canvas with a small tree on it. Pics may be restricted by post count or reputation... it's 6am, and am not really thinking on what's required or if there's a prerequisite.

This way shows the pics full size in the thread. Once the photos are in your library, just copy the BB to the thread. I prefer this method because everyone can see pics without having to load them.
Go to My Profile >> click "More" or "Add album"
Create new album
Name your album and save
hard to see commands on blue bar, move your mouse to highlight "Upload photos"
That's it brother.
