sometimes if i smoke a lot, i think about something than i start to panic and my heart races... happen to anyone else?

this is with different strains though, it doesnt seem like i panic with couthlock weed but more with like sativa strains i think.

i asked my friends and it doesnt happen to them, is there something i can try to distract me when im high?

i have panic attacks. one of the reasons i medicate is to control them. funny thing about marijuana, what helps one tweaks another. this is why strain ID is very important to medical patients. :)

all cannibis isconsidered sativa however it can be futher classified as: sativa, indica, ruderalis, and afghanica. Indica is a sit on your head stone and that may caue you to be paranoid. i like sativa and afghan best. hope tis helps... i used to freak out but then a friend saw i was sketch slappedme around a bit and said "Dont let ANYTHING ruin you high" and ever sense i just dont let ANYTHING fuck with me and i have been a LOT better

panic attacks is why i dont smoke anymore. (lol i know why am i growing and why am i on a pot forum).
but i honestly cant smoke any more. i always feel like shit the next morning and sometimes have random panic attacks and since Im already on 'pharmaceuticals' for the panic issues it just seems like a better idea to enjoy weed by watching my family smoke it. ROFL.

I panic when i run out... =0

Does that count... =P

Seriously...

I think that drugs do not chance personality traits but more so amplify the circumstance... Simply if you may already be prone to these episodes normally but are so subtle you do not notice them... Smoking makes it like looking in a microscope...

I think control of your body mind and spirit is essential...

Did i break off in enough tangents there... =\

Yeah shm. That really sucks. I have sometimes wondered if weed doesn't make some of my situations worse.
I am also on meds and sometimes find that if I am really anxious and start having a panic attack, that smoking weed makes it worse. :-| I'll keep smoking and smoking hoping that something will change but it doesn't. I just end up burning myself out 'til I eventually fall asleep.

That sounds good on paper but then if you get something too mellow you end up getting bummed out.
I know I am sounding skeptical here but I'm moody as hell and still, for the life of me, don't get this strain thing. Its gonna take a lot of experimentation for me to get all the different strains I need.

I think that drugs do not chance personality traits but more so amplify the circumstance... Simply if you may already be prone to these episodes normally but are so subtle you do not notice them... Smoking makes it like looking in a microscope...Yes sometimes this is true BUT sometimes its not. Sometimes when I smoke I over analyze everything and I mean 'everything.' Sometimes when I am straight :-?, which really sucks, I over analyze things but then I toke, I am fine, so I don't know if it is just that my body has become dependent on toking to feel good or its just the strain or what:confused:

I think control of your body mind and spirit is essential...YES! I have to agree wholeheartedly with you on this one. We are not just our minds but are body, mind and soul which are all connected. When one is affected, they essentially all are.

When you start practicing becoming the 'compassion wittness' then toking is like the icing on the cake. :blsmoke::peace:

Did i break off in enough tangents there... =\

My attacks always have triggers most of which I can and do avoid like the plague but smoking makes them better to the point where I at least end up laughing at the end of the attack rather than dry heaving which in my book gets two big thumbs up.

Yes mine attacks are fairly predictable also but not always. I know most of my triggers but sometimes instead of walking away from them I move towards them. Go figure.

I sometimes freak and don't even know what has set me off but basically just being around people sends my anxiety high so I avoid people like the plague.:lol:
Actually its not all that funny but I am just so used to it know.

Hubby is alwasy saying that I would probably do really well in a nature disaster since nothing in nature scares me. I'm not afraid of anything else at all excpet for people and I absolutely am terrified of feeling trapped so I have to always be on the edge with an escape outlet.:? My poor hubby. I have to admit though that he is quite supportive considering.

I haven't gotten to the point where I can often laugh at my panic attacks because I sometimes say or do things that I wouldn't normally do out of  fear.

GAWD. Why to i even respond to these type of posts.:shock::wall:?

I have many triggers as well like...anxiousness, focusing to hard, anger, etc.. They have been going on everyday even when i dont smoke for a couple months now so i think the best thing to do is just not smoke..I mean i already feel high as hell right now and i havent smoked in two days...Even when im completely sober i feel like i just took a bong hit or even sometimes I feel I ate a small dose of mushrooms and things just seem out right goofy

I gave up weed for this reason 3years ago and have only just started again this year. After 15 years of smoking the paranoia got to me and all i used to do after smoking was tune into my breathing and heart beat. This would lead to a self perpetuating cycle, that only now can I understand and control (mostly). I would think my heart was beating too fast, which leads to mild panic and adrenaline being pumped into my system.I would ultimately think I was going to have a heart attack and die. It go to the point that during the day, when I hadnt smoked, I would have the same vicious circle of thoughts and have a panic attack. Now I understand what they are I am able to remove the paranoia as I can just say to myself 'its only the weed, your not dying' and so I dont get full of adrenaline which starts the whole circle. Hope that wasnt too much babble, bit wasted.

Thats exactly what im talkin about...Before i would smoke I would be nervous but like a dumass I would smoke anyways then just concentrate on my heart beat and when i got faster I would think the same thing..HEART ATTACK! I think its way more mind of matter than anything but smoking induces it greatly...even when i dont smoke i start to think about and start to hyperventilate and think about all the bad shit goin on in my life which made it even worse...Im glad other people have felt the same way before and it makes me feel a lot better about it...Thanks

What you need to start doing is researching your different strains of weed.
Since getting my Jack Herer strain from the club I have been doing good with the panic disorder.

There most certainly are strains that YOU need to stay AWAY from if you have these types of disorders.

I am 42 years old and have smoked off and on for 30 years now and have only just recently realized this.

Don't right off weed as the demon. Just get the right kinds for you.

I don't mean to sound like a dickhead, but dosen't everyone know you can get paranoid when you are high?

There has been a few of these posts as of late and it amazes me, because most of the people seem to be long term smokers.

I will state what everyone else has already said, but don't smoke when you are stressed! Pot isn't going to fix things, it's like alcohol it either makes a bad situation worse or a good situation better, it enhances your moods.

Get in the right frame of mind without drugs first, then smoke. As good as pot is, it's not some wonder drug that cures everything.

Anyway, I hope you find your happy place soon and start enjoying happy highs once again :) GL
