Jesus man.
You're not financially responsible for anyone are you? What did you get a job doing? Would you ever consider putting him in a home?
I work in the HR division of an online company. I get paid three dollars less than the job I last worked for before the lay offs. My nephew gets money from SSI so he can cover his own expenses. And, no, my dad will never go into a nursing home. I couldn't do that to him. :(

Just asking... no offense.
How do you stay positive?

I haven't posted in quite a long time, but here I am. Alzheimer's patients really do require 24 hour care (I was a CNA for a few years) and I hope you can find some help somewhere to look after him, I know how stressful it can be.

Happy early birthday, I'm sending every positive wave of energy I can spare your way.

I have 49 years under my belt. You learn a few things along the way. Negativity only has one outcome. More negativity. It grows and starts to influence the people around you. I count my blessings. I list all of the good things in my life and focus on that.

Really sucks man keep your head up and things will improve, life throws challenges at everyone and it's how we rise to these challenges that define us as people. Everyone here knows you're a person with strong character and that's a great thing you're doing taking care of your family, it's up to you but if you want send me an address in a pm and ill send a little late birthday cash, nothing crazy but at least enough to get a bottle of Cuervo on me

Thanks for the offer but I'm a stubborn old Mormon. We don't take hand-outs. I got myself into this mess ( even though I don't know how) so I'll take my medicine. I'm just pissed off that it's happening on my birthday of all days.

I couldn't imagine.
At least your nephew with you though. Everybody's is gonna die someday and we all know that, but that doesn't make it any easier. I'm sorry about your mom too man. I hope she lived a long full life.

Damn Carne!!! Sounds like it's all come at once! Stay positive and remember that when things are that bad they can only get better! Time for you to call on some good friends. I'm sure they'd love to help if they can. :)

I haven't told anyone and I won't until it's over. My friends are just as broke as I am and it would only create a hardship for them if they tried to help. This one is all on me.

Hopefully someone will gift me some weed for my birthday. I'll smoke a bowl and yell, "Fuck the IRS!" at random throughout the day. If I'm lucky I might even score some tequila. ;)

How quick do you need money ? These aren't in the States yet. They are card grinders. Do you have distribution agents in your area? Just an idea :)

On the bright side, he won't remember...

In all seriousness, Carne, the other poster was right about him needing 24 hr care. You have to sleep sometime, and as you have already mentioned, he could burn the house down without realizing it. Then, you could all be homeless, too. There is no shame in placing him. It is actually the responsible thing to do. Alz is a horrible disease, and can get much worse. I commend your efforts to date. Give it some thought, for your own mental health and safety, and that of your nephew. Wishing you all the best.

PS It's just a lien. If you try to sell the car, they want their money first. Take a deep breath, and do some soul searching.

Unfortunately the IRS axe will fall tomorrow. Once I find out what they're going to do then I can figure out everything else. On my birthday, IRS? WTF?

That letter should have been sent recorded delivery. If its such an important deadline then I can't understand why they sent it unregistered post. Not fair!
