How do you use Advanced nutrients PH Perfect?

If you follow the guidelines AN say you suppose to use the same amount of everything through all of the grow. how is this right? should i use the same amount of micro, grow, and bloom through my VEG stage? never used that much bloom in my VEG before, and how am i gonna reach my ppm peak in bloom, when im giving the same amount all the time..aint the ppm gonna stay the same through the grow then?wtf? this new line is suppose to be easier, but it only makes me confused? I cant even find out what im gonna feed the mother?! any suggestions or input

Hey Nais - Know this is my first post on this forum but I have been growing for a few years and lurking the outskirts of the forum for a while. I use the 2 AN ph perfect in coco and DWC. I just use the same proportions during early veg as they recommend. I use 1/4 strength for the first week of veg and for seedlings and clones, 1/2 strength for the second week and 3/4 strength after that. For flower I use full strength as recommended. PH for me does not get to 5.8 until I go to full strength. At 1/4 it is about 6.3, at 1/2 it is about 6.1 and about 6.0 at 3/4. I knocked myself out when first using it trying to adjust pH but they put some powerful buffers in their stuff and within a half hour it always returns to the original value. I just ride it out with pH and ppm and the plants seem to love it. Not even any signs of Ca or Mg deficiency in Coco.

I just started using it in my hydro setup (bloom), the tray is 3 weeks into flower. I just started to slowly add to res to achieve the desired PPM. I added 50ml of both a&b to 100L res and I am at 1300 EC. The plants are very happy and the EC is staying steady until the res change every 6-7 days. It is the first time I have had to add PH up to the res as I usually have to add down. I know it says PH between 5 & 8 (i think, its in the shed lol) but I have a hard time not adjusting lol. The one draw back I have is the price, its expensive!!! Sorry I didnt read thier guide but are you saying they want you to add all 3 at the same time at all stages??? This is only my 3rd tray of hydro so still learning the basics!

thanks for the input Redneckreef, im in aero, but I have noticed the same your sayin, I also been adding it at 1/4 strenght to the mother or my clones, I cant seem to get the ph stable at 5.8, after adding ph down, the ph rises to 7.0 again in few hours . my water is pretty hard with an ph around 8.5 and i cant afford a RO system yet, plus im thinking it going to take too damn long time to fill up an 70 liter resorvoir, with an RO system. im dunno, thinking about going back to the old line without ph perfect to i reach my bloom period. what do you mean by ride it out with ph an ppms? how do you get your ph stable?

yep that what their feeding guidline saying! 2ml of base nurtient on small plants 4ml on big, cant find nothing for the mother thou, only on the non ph perfect nutrient calculator.

BUMP lol i just ordered and got my micro grow bloom in....and it said for me to add 7.2ml to a 2l of water per week....so average of like 2.4ml per watering of each but yeah i dont understand why you would add same amounts of each when i thought you would add more grow while veg and more bloom for bud :) but any pros ??

I may be wrong but I think he's saying dont bother adjusting PH and just let it do its thing!! I know hard huh lol! I also have very hard water and I think there is some natural buffers in it as well. it takes a fare amount of down to bring it below 6ish. I am going to install a RO and just have it feed a seperate res 400L on a float (humidifier) so it is always filled as needed but not till summer when the ground thaws to get to the shed lol. I also had another person say that you can do more harm than good by adjusting PH when using the PH perfect. I am also going to go back to my reg. nutes this refill and will try later when stash levels are better and I can experiment lol.

Most AN 3-part users (myself included) use a simple 1-1-1 ratio (G-M-B), in the past all type of exotic ratios were created for GH's 3-part like (1-1-1 / 2-1-1 / 0-1-2 / 1-1-3) but theis usually just left more salts in the rez.

The recommendation for most 2 / 3 part nutrients are 1-1 / 1-1-1 ratio. As a bonus you'll get to buy all three bottles again at the same time :D

So if I'm into my 4th week of flower (which I am) and I just add A&B bloom this is wrong? I should be adding all three, micro, grow, and bloom? Sorry if I'm sounding a bit daft but I guess I smoke way to much lol. And jeezus thats gonna cost me lol. I think it was like $30 for the bloom! My reg. nutes cost $10 a gallon lol.

I'm using ph perfect in soil. I use tap water, and at half dose it goes right to 5.8 I haven't tried full dose yet.
I just water the soil with 5.8 ph, and no probs yet.

if your using Micro, grow and bloom as base nutrient during flower you should add all 3, i only uses this under VEG. I switch over to Connoiseur during Flower, this is also just 2 bottles. When you write A&B bloom I think your meaning the sensi bloom 2-part, and then this is your base nutrient.

but back to my question!, does everyone just ignore the ph and ppms at the start using Ph perfect?do the ph perfect work on 1/4 strenght when using RO water? i mean this cant be good?! what does AN say about this? i wrote them an email but they answered that i needed to call them back do the complexity of my questions, im sitting at the other side of the world so thats not gonna happen d:P And im growing Aero by the way;))

According to AN phPerfect must be user at full strength to keep proper pH and PPM.

You are confusing two of the bases. This post is about the 3 bottle system (Grow,Micro,Bloom). You are using the Sensi A/B Grow/Bloom Base. Both are suppose to be equal in quality. I personally like Sensi. You run Sensi Grow A/B for (veg) and Sensi Bloom A/B for (flower). Your doing fine.

With the GMB, 1-1-1 ratio is recommended all the way through and I would think its a must with pH Perfect because I imagine each one has a set amount of buffers, so you would want to keep 1-1-1 to keep it balanced.

I agree with Redneck reef. Use the same amounts, but 25% less to protect yourself from burn. AN's nutrients are pretty strong.

There's also a calculator on their site that was just updated for the pH Perfect line - http://www.advancednutrients.com/hydroponics/calc/ - hope that helps!

The ph perfect works at any strength one thing you'll have to get used to is not looking at your meters. When I changed I was sketchy as all gets about just mixing and pouring but man it hasn't been easier. One tip if not straight hydro is just make sure you get good run off when you water

That's not entirely true.

First up, look at the chart. No really, look at it. Check out the section labeled "Bigger Yields Growing System" - the veg part. Somewhere in there you'll see that it lists base nutes should be given at 1ml/L for seedlings/clones, 2ml/L for small plants, and 4ml/L for mature plants.

So clearly it works just fine down to at least 25% full strength. How much less than that will it work? No idea. But it's pretty clear that at quarter strength the nutrients still work.

Regarding other questions about whether or not you check pH and PPMs, that's up to you IMHO. I checked and checked and checked at first because it was hard for me to believe the nutrients were really going to work like they say they do. But after awhile you get tired of it always being okay readings and you learn to trust the nutes.

I have used it at varying strengths and my results show less than perfect results when using less than full strength.

But I give my young ladies full strength, break them early of the fear of nutrients. ;-)

Alright I was thinking about using connseuir a and b and switch out bloom a and b (USA) cyco nutes because its fucking advanced nutrients and cyco basically stole there recipes from advanced ....one to save money this run and second to do a little experiment and see what happens to my babies .....any thoughts would be cool
