I keep waiting for some warning from the federal government to Washington, Oregon, and Colorado concerning legalizing marijuana. But so far, there has been no definitive statements. Yesterday I saw that the former DEA wrote a letter to Holder encouraging him to publicly oppose the measures as he did with prop 19. As he put it:
So what's up? Does Obama not want to risk alienating more voters? From the polls I've seen, the Colorado and Washington measures have a good chance of passing. Especially Washington. The poll I saw today put support at 57% with undecided at 9%. That's the highest I've seen for any legalization effort so far.
I have to admit that I'm hoping for a big fed crackdown. I want to see this issue blow up and become a factor in elections to comes.
