How could a company kill plants for 15 years and still be a top seller?
Why are people still flushing? Why do people still think dark periods work? Why are people feeding their plants carbs, aminos and other things healthy plants already produce on their own? Because each new crop of newbs that starts this hobby has exactly zero experience tending a lawn or a garden and knows nothing about what makes plants grow. That's where the colorful cartoon labels, BS claims, and anecdotal evidence from inconsistent growers come into play.

So, let me get this straight.. You're telling us all that Advance Nutrients, in reality, sucks and that no one has ever been successful with them.. that it's all hype and only hype.. classic.

Its understood that plants create their own aminos, B vitamins, carbs, etc... how does it not make sense that supplying plants with these elements allows them to focus energy on growth. I have seen this with my own eyes. Same strain, same envirnment, one with big bud one with out. There is quite the difference. You cant tell me other wise. Big Bud with out a doubt does what it says. Big Buds. Also Uncle Ben, not just AN, but all these nute companies dont label shit because of Ag regulations. Which to me makes no sense, but thats why. Also, Im pretty sure the numbers are minimums on the bottle. For real you two should give it a shot, you'll stop bad talking it. You can hate the company politics and all but the product works.

You can sit here and tell me to post pics, but Im not going to. I just dont feel comfortable with that. Im not in a legal state. Believe me or dont, I grow good buds, I am confident in my skills and I could always learn something new. Thats why we are here... no?

And for real, I dont have a chip on my shoulder, Im just mingling and trying to learn new things. So, don't take it the wrong way. I dont doubt your abilities.

15 years? Some of the plant food companies that would be recommended by some of the more talented growers in this thread have been around for 35, even 50 years.
Right, and they havnt changed a thing. So yes it works just fine, but you can do so much more. Seriously though, throw some Big Bud in the mix. and not weeks 2-4... all through flower.

Look at this crap - here's a label with a stupid looking cartoon character, no guaranteed elemental analysis stated, just bullshit hype with a ridiculous application direction to use 2 ml during week 2 -4. What is so special about "week 2-4"? Nothing, just bullshit to pull the wool over the eyes of the ignorant. And at $42 for a liter of watered down snake oil plus shipping costs.....are you guys fuckin' nuts or just plain stupid????? http://www.fullbloomhydroponics.net/big-bud-1-liter/?gclid=COX6k4-Sq7ICFQjZQgodjVgAUg

Come to find out it contains (if you can believe the ad) nothing more than a dime's worth of Potassium sulphate and potassium phosphate. 0-1-3 <<-- WTF is THAT? They can't even agree on the amount if you check out another vendor. Now it's 5 ml per quart???? http://www.planetnatural.com/site/big-bud-liquid.html

Rather than pissing off your money on a tsp. of potassium phosphate & sulfate, buy enough for very little expense, enough to supply RIU membership for a week. Mix your own.

Thanks for sharing everything you know about the topic Ben.. I'll take it from here. What Ben forgot to add to that lengthy, in-depth answer, that's demanded by RIU users, is what amino acids do. I have to apologize for Ben. Plant scientist like Ben are use to typing out long reports with lots of detail so forgive him for adding so much info, background, and relevant data that noobs on RIU have not way of appreciating.

Amino Acids have a chelating effect on micronutrients. When applied together with micronutrients, the absorption and transportation of micronutrients inside the plant is easier. This effect is due to the chelating action and to the effect of cell membrane permiability. L - Glycine & L - Glutamic Acid are known to be very effective chelating agents.
Some how these basic facts elude self declared 'plant experts' like Ben. How can anyone with a basic education not understand this? It's basic plant science 101.

The 'poser' schools the 'expert' again.. How is that possible Ben? How can a poser like me know that and you don't?

http://www.maximumyield.com/inside-my-com/features-articles/item/17-amino-acid-chelates—giving-your-plants-a-helping-hand

He'll deny this too.

The fact that you're so wrong should be embarrassing.

Am I dealing with the Daxflame of gardening here with Ben? Is Ben the village idiot that everyone just encourages cause it's funny to watch him stumble around making a fool of himself? Meanwhile he takes himself very seriously? Cause this HAS to be a joke..

Nice try....... pimp. :hump:

Where's your garden and what sharpening settings are in your digicam? You do have a digicam, don't you? Now......doncha go touching that contrast or sharpening option on your TV, ya hear! Some silly little kid might accuse you of photoshopping your TV!

LOL deflection.. Classic. Can't face the fact that you don't know it all huh? Maxyield is just a magazine not a nute company.. any if you knew ANYTHING about it you'd know that AN and them are arch enemies. You should get back to plowing fields with your donkey.

I'd love to teach you a few things but I'm a afraid you're an old dog that is unable to learn new tricks.

O I completely understand. I have to admit it's a little entertaining seeing grown men offer up the equivalent of a playground fit cause they are wrong. Then again you feel odd cause it's soo easy.. and you start to think there is something wrong with them.

right.. they got so much hate for AN it just eats at there soul lol. imagine how much of a lowlife you have to be spending all your time bashing a company. they got way too much time on there hands

Remember it's a weed ... it will grow anywhere! You don't need to complicate things by spending more on nutrients than your grow is worth ... Keep it simple and avoid problems.

What's funny is that I generally agree with this.

Advanced is fine. It's the cost that is dumb and the marketing is lame. Big Mike has a big head plain and simple. It just so happens that the nutrients work when done correctly.

You know what eats at my soul? The stupidity, graft, and corruption I see in the cannabis community.

Yeah, I bet the tears are just running down your cheeks.. You're the victim now right? You're worse then a soap opera..

Is that why you don't know about amino acid chelates, refuse to acknowledge the facts put in your face, and just keep on chirp'n off where you don't have a leg to stand on? Really?

Or are you just a grumpy old man?

I'm familiar with the essential elements but I was unaware that there were 'essential aminos' that aren't already produced by a healthy plant. What did all these plants do on Earth before newbs had their bottles of aminos in hand??? Even then, they still can't put together a healthy harvest and are too ashamed to post pics of their plants .

Sure its a weed and it will grow anywhere, and for like $40 bucks. People get caught up on spending a few extra bucks... its a small investment when you are getting 30-50% more in the end. Its not hype. Run a plant with base nutes only, and one with base and big bud at 2mls per L. Easy as pie. Im seeing very quickly that homebrewer and Uncle Ben have not honestly tried this. This thread, just like every other thread they jump on is over.

You are your own worst enemy. lol So, you fold right. I made a very clear condition and you ran away from the other thread. Why is that? lol

Why do guys like you hear that you have to have to add it make a plant grow? Please show us where anyone claims that... you won't cause you can't.. I have images all lined up. Some UB will not be happy to see again.. of his own plants. When you've been around as long as Ben you in inadvertently post not so great photos. Later you can cherry pic. Someone shared a few with me. Not looking good.

Do youself a favor and google amino acid chelation in plant nutrients and write all those scientist and professors that you think they're wrong.. too funny.. remember these days years down the line when you get it..

Feeding plants properly is about balance. The 'booster' you're referring to will only benefit a plant if one's base nutes aren't already supplying adequate amounts of P and K. You can't force a plant to use more P and K than it needs (are you familiar with nutrient antagonism?) so lets hypothetically say in your universe you're actually seeing gains of 30-50% when using your 'booster', well that just means your base nutes aren't supplying your plants with the right ratios of salts.

Here is a free tip: look for base nutes that supply your plants with all the essential elements in the ratios that you find work best in your environment. Doing so will make troubleshooting easier and allow you to cut out all those unnecessary bottles that seem to do you guys more harm than good.
