Whats going on with young men these days? Living at home with mom, not looking for work, not even helping there parents with chores or bills. Sitting in there rooms smoking pot and bitching when there mom lets the mountian dew run out. The other day my 50 year old uncle (That still lives at home) seen that his mom made him out a bill, with rent and utilities, he crumbled it up in a ball and shot a 3-pointer right in the trash can. I have a feeling alot of guys on RUI are the same way, anyone brave enough to admit that they are a dead beat loser????????????????

i just dont get it. i felt so proud to get a job at 15 and buy a motorcycle and a car by myself. this makes a difference because on the few occasions i did ask for help from my parents they knew i needed help and not a handout.

There's nothing inherently wrong with living with your parents, it's the circumstances under whic you are living with them, how you treat them and the property etc. If you have a goodrelationship with our parents and can work/play/smoke with them with mutual respect, that's a great thing. If you do not need a house to yourself, then it's fine. My problem though is that my parents are very controlling and overprotective; breaking shit over me staying overnight with friends or over what I eat (recovering anorexic) + domestic fights between them... but I CAN'T move out because it affect the conditions of my college application, healthcare and tenancy agreement. I move out, everyone loses everything. So I'm just going to wait until my dad gets the fucking message and moves out and my ma moves into the house she built with her new boyfriend. I'm staying in this damn house I guess... All my shit is here + studio equipment for work. I hate feeling like a burden though. I bitch about my parents but I do cook/clean/work/take care of my brother but they only notice the things I do that piss them off.

Err, sorry, anyway everyone's circumstances are different. Ma says when she moves for good she wants me to come stay with her. Providing I'm not being yelled at for nothing, I like the notion of being able to reside/work with your parents like a good friend or roomie.

I tell my mom not to come in my room. I don't want them to find the speakerbox I made into a bad ass grow room. She keeps saying it smells funny by my door.

Haven't lived at home since 16. Can't imagine going back. My dads a lazy prick and my mom is a nut job. I'll pop a tent in the woods before I live with them again.

Sounds like my cousin. He's 23, has no job, doesn't help with any chores, never got his drivers license, the only reason he got his GED is because they threatened to kick him out if he didn't, which is also the only reason he got a job. He just barely worked for a little over a year before he got fired from walmart, which is pretty damn amazing because I used to work there and they keep the most worthless people hired on forever.

Anytime you would ask him to help you, or for him to do chores or something he would come up with every excuse on earth not to do it. He has no friends except online and I would bet my life savings he's a virgin. The only thing he is good for is running up electric bills by turning the AC down to 65 and playing games on his computer all hours of the day and night.

You can hear him complaining on his headset about how he is pissed that he had to take out the trash or do dishes, worthless fucker. :cuss:

I rent a flat off my parents for a silly amount of money. But i have recently left my job due to future plans so will be moving back into their house for a couple of months. Due to my situatin i won't be paying rent but would ordinarily and would not have a problem doing so. Living at home has it's perks as well as its drawbacks. Sure i won't be able to smoke weed inside or have a grow, but at the same time i won't finish a joint and have nothing to eat but ice lollies and crisps, rather looking forward to some kick ass home made roast dinners :) cooking roast dinner for 1 ust isn't cost effective, since moving out i have not had a single one, rather looking forward to it :D

I moved back to New Mexico to care for a dying parent and another with Alzheimer's. I guess that makes me a dead beat loser. Epic thread. One star.

this is the problem, do you have such little respect for your mother that you jeopardize her freedom and the possibility of losing her house over you having a grow there? how terribly sad.

You think a parent would lose their house over a small speakerbox grow from their kid?

Lol they'd just take his plants and warn/scare him
