We know all about the heavyweights of the weed world (Widow, NL, Haze, Kush, Skunk) and the wonderful pleasures they have to offer. What I'm interested in hearing about is the underdog, "The Little Strain That Could", so to speak. One which you were so sure would disappoint, only to have it blow your mind. Come on people, let me hear your dirty little secret strains.

Most old school strains back around 2006-2008 impressed me.

C99
Most of all was a runted BGum bag seed ad my favourite smoke to date.

Alot of seed I grown since around 2008 seem to be OK not special.
OG's, headbands etc

Yes. I've heard so many people rave about "Trainwreck", but personally I was letdown. It was a clone from a dispensary though, and they can't be trusted.

Caffeine(local strain) mostly sativa, its an ibl of P.Haze x Bubba kush, taste like coffee, cappuccino or hot chocolate, sweet and gives a very sativa- energizing high.

Brainstormg13 haze (Delta 9 Labs) grows a bit slow in veg and flowers for 11-14 weeks depending on how sati dom. should not be used in sog unless you have 7 ft ceilings to work with indoors, scrog performance is exceptional as it improves yield indoors by nearly double, lst works too. stretch is about 3x. turns a strange grey/purple color on calyxes a few weeks prior to cut. trippy creeper weed we got here.

Red Dragon (Barney's farm) best thing to ever been "bred" by BF, its their best quality plant in the stable, sativa dominant hybrid that yields sticky fruity flowers, takes about 10 weeks to finish or sooner. it can stretch on some pheno's. supposed to be afghani x utopian haze.

Blue Haze (Homegrown Fantaseeds)- similar but different from blue dream, this Blueberry x Homegrown Haze cross finishes early at around 8-10 weeks, go for the more sativa leaning plants and scrap the blueberry dominant ones, its the haze leaning plants with the berry terpines that you want. currently running these on my second harvest and Homegrown fantaseeds delivered. 100 dollars for 10 regular seeds is still a good deal.

Armageddon (clone/ Homegrown Fantaseeds)- Smells a little like NL or Big bud strains, piney-lime smell in veg but in flower it turns into a limey-alcohol smell and cured smells like lime. grows like it was a sativa bred with nl, or another indica/sativa with huge yields, the plant reminds me of a class AK47 hybrid tbh, fast flowering 7-9 weeks. it grows like a indica plant but its high is definitely that of a sativa, kinda like c99, it doesn't perform to how it behaves and that is why i can't give this clone up!

Its a very selective variety, sort of like AK-47 or silver haze. You've really gotta be sure what you're getting or disappointment is almost certain.

That Red Dragon strain you speak of sounds absolutely killer. I'll have to see what exactly Barney's has to offer. The Brainstorm/G 13 Haze sounds like the real deal as well, although long flowering times test my patience. Keep the contenders coming.

Strains nobody remembers anymore (because original breeders fucked up their own gear)

Shiva- Used to be an absurd potency knock you on your ass type of stone but Sensi(whom i believe created the strain) stopped making it like it used to, perhaps the parent's got old or they screwed up. I still consider this strain. if you can get it from Homegrown fantaseeds (Shiva, Shiva afghani, Super chrystal), Dr. Atomic (Atomic Shiva) then you can enjoy it. grew shiva skunk, its good but not great, Shiva shanti has some stretch issues and can herm for some reason now, used to be really stable. strong "oriental" aka garlic/hashy/spicey taste and cough inducing.

Short does have a good blueberry, but that bitch is a rough grow if the cut isn't the right one. Sort of like trainwreck!

While on the subject of forgotten strains, I remember fondly my first trip to Thailand in 96'. A buddy and I picked up this Thai Stick in Bangkok that absolutely blew our minds. We spent most of our first night in our hotel room, too paranoid to even go outside. Once we finally worked up the nerve to leave our hotel, we ended up sitting in a KFC for over two hours giggling like teenage girls and eating popcorn chicken and mashed potatoes. Now that's how you experience Thailand.

Yes, Thailand is great and Thais are a very hospitable people. Muay Thai is a real treat to watch. Some great gear there as well and you can even find some sweet opium up north, if you're in to that kind of thing.

Anyone ever tried Seedism? Some of their strains, in particular "Milk", "Hippie Killer" and "BLZBud" sound interesting. Never really heard good or bad things about their genetics.

Look into sannies Killing fields, i have one left at 12 weeks flower, getting cut on sunday. green pheno's are so bulbous for sativa's smell is sour grapes/candy/berry.

Agreed on the armageddon, i plan on breeding Armageddon x Querkle very soon,
