I'm still new to this all but I feel like plants going rootbound is somewhat of a myth. To me it just means you have to be more persistent and consistent with your watering. As long as the plant is getting enough water, it shouldnt matter how many or how large the roots are, right? Shouldnt a plant grow fine as long as it is watered on a consistent schedule so that a plant with a much larger pot (like mine) requires watering only ever 5-6 days, but a smaller plant could need watering every few hours... as long as you dont under or over water shouldnt they both grow well? This is all hypothetical... kind of in that mode of thought... studying for a cognition exam.

I mean afterall, aeroponics grows in nothing but air... roots are just constantly being given JUST what they need, no more, no less.

I think "rootbound" is attributed to several different problems, rather than just your roots out-growing your pots √ Temperature, soil, and what's in your water has a lot to do with it as well.

it beats me .. i am a newb and i am only following other growers advise "autos need big pots from the get go" ... i have did my last three in little pots for 2 weeks then transplanted them into 3gal pots to finish .....

just running out of days and the first 3 seem static... i will wait it out with much hope :-)

That's a very good point, I wasn't thinking about those other factors.

I've had lots of root bound plants that did just fine. You do have to keep a closer eye on the watering but give them enough water and nutes and you can avoid it becoming a major problem. The water does run right through a root bound plant but I have found that putting a dish under them and allowing them to wick some water back up works OK. Granted they can strangle themselves being as well but it's not a make or break if you watch them. Some plant types/species even like to be root bound in order to flower properly but boy do you have to water often. I've had some non-weed plants so root bound that you wonder where the soil went.. It's odd but it's like the plant ate the damm soil.

:leaf:Thanks for the ride Budski....:leaf:

I'm still waiting for a seed company description that doesn't make every strain sound like it's the best one. They all sound good. I guess thats why I have so so much trouble picking them.
I'm working on picking the victims of next years outdoor grow and it's killing me. Probably why I went with an old fashioned Master Kush last time.
Just to many choices!!

Those seeds look great... kind of makes me wonder why they blacked out the rest of the plant though...

Been holding off on pictures as nothing too exciting is going on... i mean it is, but it's only noticeable after a few more days ;). Anyway, more and more orange hairs are popping up, buds are getting REAL fat, and of course, frost keeps appearing. Mmm, mmm, mmm. Watered her last night with plain water, gonna feed her one more time then it'll be straight ph adjusted water. Not sure if I'll need to actually flush or do you guys think just watering her for ~2 weeks will be enough before harvest? I've only fed her like 4-5 times.

Last but not least, pics. Enjoy,

looks awesome man well done, you got less tops than mine had but they look a LOT more frosty!!! I reckon just water them for 2 weeks, thats all I did (and ever have done) comes out fine, if you flush them every time you water you I would imagine the plant gets over watered and a touch stressed perhaps, but thats just speculation, haven't actually done it :)

Just finished making a bangin' Canna-Cake XD Chocolate Disarono Sponge!! get to eat it tomorrow :D
