I really need some help

ok soooooooooooo what do you think it is? Cause they lay dormant till i give them nutes and they go to shit pretty much after the first feeding?
well, I'm not sure, I hate rockwool, can't see the roots. The rockwool looks to have some sort of algae on it to me.

The algae is normal really. I went and looked again at the plants and your rite there isnt any real nute burnt leafs. Ok so the logical next step is to feed the plants cause this has to be underfeeding. A def of some kind. So yo up the ppm and the symptoms get worse. much worse.. with just a single feeding. So I cant get this wrong many more times before these will be just too far gone to keep.

man I like being able to look at the roots, you can really tell a lot. Good luck with that , I have no clue unless like you say its been a ph thing till you got the bluelab ( I have two guardians), nice meters for sure.

I can see all my roots they are hanging out of the bottom of the rockwool blocks. Is that a problem?

Are you putting them into some slabs soon or something? Going conservative on my plants indoors I was using 8-900 at a month old.

In my opinion, using a silica supplement with rockwool is redundant. Rockwool leaches useful levels of silica all on its own. cn

Take a pipette and stick it like an inch inside your RW cube and suck out a sample of water. Ph that with drops or a meter if you can get enough water. I bet the Ph isn't the spot on 5.7 your rez is. Welcome to the shitty world of big ass RW blocks lol. If it is to high in the cubes you could lower the rez to 5.5 or 5.3, just monitor the water inside the actual cubes, that's where it counts.

Can you point me to some documentation on this? I use 4" rockwool blocks and pro-tekt for ph up. Am I causing a problem here?

those saying a silica additive have clearly not used AN rhinoskin, pop it in your res and the ph goes down :/

So why do AN think differently? This quote was taken directly from their own website:

+ CAN RHINO SKIN AFFECT PH?
Yes, Rhino Skin is a powerful pH Up formula that can dramatically raise pH, even when used in very small amounts. To ensure that Rhino Skin is properly dissolved and distributed in your nutrient water, add it to your reservoir at least two hours before feeding, allowing it to solubulize. Agitate your water before you administer it to plants.

you shouldn't need to use pH up this early in the grow. You also know the rule about not mixing pH up and pH down in the same res... right?

he didnt say you were killing your plants , he simply stated the facts about silica. if it works for you then fine dont change it.

ok for now.... with your own common sense , not everyone elses..... lower the food , an get rid of the silica for now.

if they are goin to shit everytime you raise the ppm , dont do it again .... yet. they either dont need that much food right now , or the food is bad for some reason.

if you know your ph meter is calibrated (what about your tds meter ? is it reliable too?) then just keep running about 300 or less , with no more silica .... an in just a few days they should start eatin good again. (maybe a week, give or take)

it dont matter if some use 2500 ppm at seedlings , it aint workin for you so leave it where your plant likes it right now.

I feed with foxfarm Tiger bloom and alittle calmag and alittle silica.
why on earth would you be using tiger bloom during veg ? (had to , that was kinda obvious)

also , you dont need any calmag right now , at all. your tap has PLENTY of ca an enough mg for now. stop using for now. (not advice its a demand from your plant)

everybody sells a different silica product , and pro-tekt has 3% K in it too , so maybe yours has the added K too.

even if it dont thats too much PK an not enough N for a plant to veg good.

do you have the grow big or the big bloom ?

overall they are gonna be fine , they dont look too bad at all.

In an effort for fox farm to sell more nutes they offer you ways to use the bloom mixes while in veg too. My big bloom says to use it during veg and foliar feed too. Although I dont...

did you calibrate it when you got it? did it come with a few packages of calibrating solutions?
yes I did calibrate it.

I desided that its time to sink or swim so I changed the water and did not ad any silica this time just Tiger bloom and GH flora micro a tiny bit of superthrive and a tiny bit of cal -mag.I ran the ppm at 500 And waited .......

The old growth that was already damaged got real real bad. But the tops are getting darker green and they are finally moving again. They were PH locked and starving also.

thanks!
