I made some BHO for the first time a few days ago...used amnesia x super silver haze trimmings...the potency blew me away. I smoke multiple times a day, and this shit put me on my ass like nothing else does...
My method:
Materials:
1 can of pure butane
trimmings/buds
glass jar with a metal lid
thick nail and a hammer
ice
container with warm water
strainer and a coffee filter or paper towel
something to scrape up the oil with...i used a plastic card
Procedure:
Stick the empty jar with the trimmings in the freezer, along with the ice. the colder it gets, the better.
Poke a hole in the center of the lid using a nail
Take your stuff and go outside...don´t want the butane to explode or give you brain damage...
Put the glass jar with trimmings in a container with ice
Close the jar and spray butane inside it through the hole in the lid. Shake the jar every ten seconds or so.
Butane boils at .5 Celsius. the ice is there to slow down the process to maximize extraction time
After a few minutes open the jar and pour out the butane through the coffee filter and strainer into the container warm water
The warm water will cause the butane to evaporate very quickly, leaving a film of honey oil floating on the water.
Scoop up the oil with a plastic card (credit card, grocery bonus card, whatever...) Its a lot easier to do so off water, rather than off a solid surface.
Alternatively, you can pour the oil into an empty bowl, then, when the butane is gone,
add a little ethanol to make a potent tincture.
This stuff is incredibly potent and very smooth on the throat. The downside is that it´s hard to work with...if it sticks to you fingers, you will never get it into your bowl...
