How do I quiet-down my Fan Noise?

Hello, I just installed a grow tent into the walk-in closet of my bedroom.
I added a fan to exhaust heat from the tent.
I attached a make-shift carbon-filter on it for now.
The fan is pretty loud! Luckily, when I close both the closet door and my bedroom door, I cannot hear the fan in other parts of the house. However, I think that the fan noise will make it harder for me to sleep at night, and also if a visiting relative or guest goes into my room to use the master bathroom, they will for-sure hear the fan.
So is there anyway to minimize the loud fan noise?
I searched previous fan noise threads and most of them seem to be addressing vibration.
But my is not making any obvious vibration noises, just loud air noise ("WOOSH!").
Perhaps if I add some weather stripping to the closet door,
that might mask the noise enough? Any other ideas?
Thanx!

^HTG Supply has them. I got their 6" model, and it works pretty good. They have them listed on Ebay, or you can go directly to their website.

My fan quieted down a bit with the addition of a speed controller; noise reduced according to the speed setting.....but running a duct OUT of the room quieted it down much more....

If you can move the fan to say... the attic above the master bedroom to move it further away from the living space it will be harder to hear. Do keep in mind the longer the duct you have the more inefficient the fan becomes.

Hmmm...... I would try to sound proof your closet. I have a 3 foot muffler on my 8" max fan connected to the scrubber and it was still pretty loud. Use of a fire rated door now makes it sound like a blow dryer.

Btw I would still bungee your fan and wrap it.
