Led Users Unite!

company Kessil

Multiple defective units. Only 2 out of 5 worked correctly out of the box. Another user on here reported a similar experience. I received 1 defect on my first order of 3. Before I realized I had a defect I ordered 2 more. My working replacement unit arrived with my second order, however the second order of 2 was both defective. Basically a two-week headache.

They make the cheap chineese panels look good :-) It's actually quite a shame, they seem to have done a lot of R & D and their product certainly has a ton of potential. Must be a PR nightmare. When you send him the link for this thread point out that the thread you are posting on has current stats

If they don't think 81,000+ views is worth making right on their mistake I hope dlowry doesn't have any stock options in his incentive plan :-)

Yeah I've had luck with LED's. :) Started seeing results in veg added units to increase coverage on my HPS and now want to go ALL LED. I've been following your grow with those magnums. Mad props on those lovely, lovely ladies. I have a mix of other LED units and additional resources, but I'm leaning toward ISIS now and I know Kessil will get me some working units, it just sucks to be waiting and waiting when I planned thoroughly. We all experience delays with LED since so few shops carry affordable units. I'm trying not to hate on them to much but my dream of an all 16 Kessil flower room is long gone. If they resolve my issues I still want to pick up a few more dispersed among a four block of ISIS or a grid of nine blackstars but I'm leaning ISIS for that 3 year warranty where blackstar only has 1. What's the warranty on those magnums?? That's for sure the magenta I've been looking for.

Spectra lights have a 5 year warranty and they've been proven to grow all over 420magazine.com They put a lot of work into extending the life of these lights too. Finned heat sinks, no PCB board LED lights sit directly on heat sink, LEDs running at the right wattage for grow power and longevity/heatlevels. They also have fail safe bits so if one LED dies it doesn't take out a whole row or column, and supposedly its designed so LEDs can be easily replaced (but I'm not sure if we can order those bits ourselves?)

The website is slowly getting updated, pictures are out of date, here are what they look like now (you can see the fail safe bits too) http://www.420magazine.com/forums/journals-progress/132192-irish-boys-480w-720w-grow-led-hydro-land-clovers-49.html

The Magnums have a three years too. Warranty is for sure important but I think heat management is also important as a company can always dissapear but if they built a decent light it will last anyway. I think it's going to take a year but a lot of the panels that don't run decent heat management are going to experience high failure rates. The biggest weakness of LED's is that they just don't handle heat well.

Umm probably going to need more info than that? How big are the pots, the grow space, how tall are the plants, how far along are they?

Jdizzle, are those spectra lights switchable spectrum?

I think a few companies are....

Isis
Magnum
Hydroponics hut

Not sure on the spectra and looking to order a few soon so I can test them vs my hydroponics hut lights.
thanks

I have 2 – 600w hps now and the heat and energy usage is killing me. I have been looking at the t5 ho’s and the led roads. I saw this thread and am interested in some input on how bad ass a setup of led’s I would need to have a comparable amount of light on my plants. In my area there is like no one selling these led’s so I would also need to know where to order some good ones. Any info??

Nope no switches, all the lights have the same lights and probably close to the same ratio of each light. They are all full cycle. Less that can go wrong this way, I imagine lights with switches could lose all their flowering/veg lights if the right part broke (with spectra LEDs can only die 1 at a time or all at once, you won't lose a whole column/row or half your lights like some have)

read the thread there is alot of info, but kessil and lighthouse hydro (blackstar) seem to be some of the most popular

My replacements are here!!! Still don't know if I will buy more KEssil. Still gotta see what five can do with no other LED units. Now I just have to wait until my lights come on.
