Here's the thing, when asking which is more forgiving you need to take into context the mind set of the average noob who wants to grow some weed. You can leave a plant in soil for a week without watering it, wanna give that a try with hydro?

Do I want to give it a try? Been doing it that way for over 2 years in hydro. I only water once a week in bloom and sometimes as little as once every 12 days in early veg and I do run to waste hand watering hydro.

Not necessarily true. I use sucanat (sorta like brown sugar, google it) in my flower reservoir to enhance the taste, always flush before harvest, and my bud tastes oh so sweet with no chem @ all! Sure, if you don't flush, your going to get crappy taste, but if your not flushing, your not doing it right...

A bud of mine mixed up solutions for different plants, one was getting bud blood one getting his finisher he calls it. I forget what he told me was in it, two things for final stage of flower. The beautiful res priv #18 was supposed to get the bud blood a young inocent virgin she was, and she got the finisher by mistake it would hae surly burnt her ltle leaves to a crisp. He made a new pot of soil took plant to toilet flushed a few times while fingering the soil free then replanted the girl is none the less a perfect plant today ---you can have a plant almost dead show pics to right person he tells you what to change and BAM a new plant. Not so easy wit systems.

Once a week. I have a super simple approach, don't like to spent too much time on the garden, on a typical grow I spent 10 hours, which includes cloning, feeding, recycling the material and all the work cleaning and setting up again. 10 hours. Super simple super easy and on a 2 month grow cycle hit around 0.7 gpw on average. Any other questions or are you just satisfied to be ignorant about how easy hydro can be?

your container doesnt have to be as big in a soiless/hydro system. they receive more oxygen in these types of grow system than in soil. small pots work just as well

i have never done soil but in 2nd hydro now - and i can only comment on the hassle : yes its more pricey to set up - about £600 min till 1st crop imo

As long as u not dumb and cock up timers or have lights fall down etc...

then imo hydro is far less hassle once set up - i check mine once per day unless i am having issues
-i only have to top up nutes and water once per week


as for taste as long as u flush out the strong tasting nutes in the final week then all good

up to u though bud not sure i will ever try soil - next on my list will be to try airponics gl
