So the red-headed step children of the garden got some well deserved attention today, thanks in part to a blunt of Satori. I finally decided to stake them up and clean them up, they look like they will finish right after the Goddess. They are pretty frotsty too. Might have to give the Isis another look, after having written her off to some degree.

When I was little I used to like to make a 'fort' out of blankets and chairs to hide in.

I still like the forts, especially like this. Some cool shots from under the canopy.

Okay so I'm seeing some purpling of the leaf stems. It's starting at the leaf and working it's way back to the stalk or branch. I decided to hit them with an early dose of nutes today rather than their regular monday schedule. Just on the Goddess and one, the better one, of the AGent Orange.

I have been running jacks dynamic duo with 3 Tbs of the all purpose 20-20-20 and 3 Tbs of the bloom 10-30-20. Today I used 2 Tbs bloom and 4 Tbs all purpose. I also put in the Pro-tekt silca (5ml/gal), 0-0-3 and a good dose of cal-mag plus (about 10ml/galIMG_6293.jpgIMG_6288.jpgIMG_6297.jpgIMG_6291.jpgIMG_6292.jpgIMG_6296.jpgIMG_6287.jpgIMG_6286.jpgIMG_6285.jpgIMG_6289.jpgIMG_6294.jpgIMG_6290.jpg.

Any thoughts on the nutes and the purpling?

We'll see what she does over the holiday.

She is so damn STANKY and FROSTY, I'm getting a chubber every time a go out there

Damn I just did a class on this last weekend, you miss it?

purple stems = sink, the plant is startin to store nutes for the winter :)

Okay, I went and read back in your thread and yes, I missed it.

I did some reading and research on the flow from source to sink, pressure flow hypothesis and the phloem. I can't find anything that says that this is visible in the plant, just that it is happening, which I understand.

Help me out here. Yellowing leaves I understand, used up and thrown away. The purpling I don't get. The leaves on the plant which yellowed and dropped, never turned purple in the stem or otherwise. If flow and source were the case why not? Just trying to get a better understanding. Also if there is plenty available to the plant at the root source it wouldn't have to pull from the leaves right? So I see it as a deficiency or possible problem. Why wouldn't the plant simply pull from the root zone to the flowers instead of the leaves, if it were available? Or is it a matter of 'switching gears' to a degree and It's calling all available resources on deck to make flowers? Even then, why the purpling?

Thanks RM3, I appreciate you.

Can you link me up with your research?

It is in one of my books I think? they are all out on loan to a friend, I will see if I can find it elsewhere?

don't know about the prior yellowing leaves you refer to, didn't see em?

do know that it is gearing up for the end of flower, a just in case last ditch effort kinda thing

The yellow leaves that have dropped were all from under neath the canopy. You would see them if you come and stand your post, scarecrow, lol.

Right on. I think I'm understanding it a little more. If it doesn't need to store in the leaves anymore it simply won't for efficiency sake, regardless of whether it has enough available at the root zone? It's funny because there isn't a bit of purpling anywhere on the Mangos outside. But they look to be a bit behind the goddess. The sativa dom Agent orange has lots of yellowing dropping leaves underneath, but no purpling whereas the more indica leaning one does have the purpling?

thanks again brother

Not too close, I'm about 20 miles east of boulder. Can certainly see the smoke though. Terrible how quickly the fire spread.

Good lookin out, we are out of harms way brother. Thanks for thinking of us

RMH!

It's probably a bit late in the thread to ask, but are the Isis and Goddess your creations?
Yes sir they are. The Goddess is (Purple Head Knocker x AK-47) with the PHK being (Trainwreck-Arcata cut x Durban Poison)

The Isis is my first outcross of the Goddess to back cross a male from her progeny. Isis is (Goddess x White Widow)

Thanks much for stopping by and never too late to ask about genetics brother.
