Black people were the worst thing to ever happen to this country, I loathe slavery and the men who exported it over here. I'll see what I can pull up but I just got back from the hofbrauhaus so don't expect too much from me at the moment.

wow guess you said phuck it and decided to show your true colors..I would argue that European settlers were the worst thing brought to America with smallpox, typhus, diphtheria, and measles...Lets not even touch on the robbing of land belonging to Native Americans... so care to argue that

guys way to negative, I am sure there are web sites that like to promote all kinds of things and mybe it is better suted out there in the ether, than here where we try to promote brotherhood through what we all have in common, the love or the plant. Sooo... take a big puff and chill. You guys got to have something better to do than keep this up. Go hug your wife, kids, dog or what ever. Smoke a big one.

Everyone agrees to disagree

Peace

south carolina seceded before abe took office. thinking they were a free state they fired on what was already theirs to get the foreigners out.
if the fed govnt came in and said you are not to use your car anymore what would you do? slavery would of eventually fadded away as technology progressed.
and not all whites owned slaves. the war was fought for one reason, the same reason for every single war in history, ECONOMICS. if the south had it their way, the north would of had to go to outside sources for food, clothes, etc.
in a republic, the minority still has rights and can not be taken away by the majority, and im sure this is what the south was feeling. when you feel your rights are being taken away, you fight.
a lot of the north sympathized with the south and even fought for them. the union just did what it this country does best, take over and distribute.

OMG did you really say slavery would have just faded out...and every single war is not over economics..some wars start due to religion, territory etc etc...your view of history is flawed

at the time of the civil war there was a world wide push to end the acceptance of institutionalized slavery. the increasing industrialization had made it possible to mechanize much of the menial labor that had been the domain of slaves and a basic awareness of human rights had spread to show us just how wrong the concept of slavery really was. so yes, we would have grown out of our need for slavery. abolitionists were already pressing for its end throughout the south and the end of that era was close at hand. once we accept that that change was already underway, we can see that the civil war was nothing more than a struggle between the independent states and the federal government for control, between the increasingly industrialized north and the mostly agrarian south. most southerners fought not to continue slavery, but to protect their home from the aggression of centralized control. in hindsight, it seems a precursor to the very struggle we continue today.

justifications and rationalizations aside, every war has an economic cause. territorial expansion, religious dominance or even retaliation all have roots in financial gain. a poor people may be rallied around some cause because they see some way to better their situation through warfare or because they have little left to lose. you cannot convince a wealthy, complacent society to take up arms against its neighbor unless that wealth and sense of well-being is shown to be threatened.

didn't you say that slavery still exists...make up your mind Cracker...
You are simply not thinking things out .... ( I'm shocked!!! Shocked I tell you!!)

I said slavery in the USA. My other comment was also 100% accurate .... I said there is more slavery today GLOBALLY than at the time of the US Civil War.

You CONSTANTLY show that you are unable to follow conversations or focus on the actual subject matter.

Take your time....read things two or three times until you UNDERSTAND ..... THEN post a response.

Well speaking from a Black/Brown mans point of view I don't believe slavery would have just faded out in the South. I even find it somewhat insulting that a white/pink man would tell me that.. Had it not been for the Civil War slavery would have grew...Faded out never...Fought out yes !!!!!! Just in my lifetime you still had folks making others drink from separate water fountains and such and this was 100 years after the so called ending of slavery..so please forgive me when I say that I don't believe NOR TRUST that it would have just faded out....

Now far as War you do have a point about economics, but I would disagree when you say wars are one and the same with roots in financial gain...with territories ( ask a Palestinian )...With religion ( ask a Muslim )..ask anyone of these and your answer would have very little to do with financial gain..
