YOU ARE VERY MISSINFORMED
colombian gold is the most poweful marijuana in the world and no new strain of sensi can even come close to colombian gold , mexican gold was super strong but diferent high and not as powefull as colombian the red and gold colombian from santa marta is not the same as panama red or mexican gold, dont open your big mouth if all youve done is read books, keep your opinion to your self, the reason that these old strains have faded is the time required to grow them up to 9 months of out door growing time, compare to 4 to 5 months for the new strains, and the yeald as well, it has nothing to do with what is better or stronger, colombian gold is the most powefull strain of marijuana on the planet

I was 15-16 years old (1973-'74) and friends of my 3 older brothers were coming back from "Nam, and this one dude had some Colombian Gold. He would keep a small film canister about one quarter full (enough to stone about 50-100 people out of a very, very small hash pipe). He NEVER would sell ANY of it, but would gladly get you high. The first hit, you'd hold it in for about 20 seconds until your lungs expanded so much you thought you'd cough one up. He's wait 10-15 minutes, and repeat. He had a runnuing bet that NOBODY could take 3 FULL hits of it. No one ever did,as God as my witness. After hit #2, it would be about 20-30 minutes since your first hit,and it just kept coming. Like a drug. Some people said it was mixed with opium, but he said it wasn't,and I believed him. No reason to lie. Supposedly he had 5-10 lbs. hid in the country, and if so,probably still has some. Me and my 2 buddies took the usual 2 tokes one night, and I swear we could not find his car. It was about 40 feet, right at the end of the concrete path that lead to his porch. I know that sounds bad, well. it was. It was more like a narcotic. But oh my God the sweet smell of that weed. I'll never forget it. Best weed I've seen, even with all the killer brands out now. No comparison. NONE!!!!! And it was goldish/red colored, but he said it was gold, though there was good Mexican Red and Acoupulco Red then too. Also some blonde Lebanese hash, and of course THAI stick and hash oil. So much variety back then, all good, but the CG took the cake.

+rep to James535

the best weed i have smoked in my entire life was columbian gold.
i have never even gotten close to being that high before, or since.
there was a strain of krypto (i really dont know what the actual strain was, just thats what it was called where i was @ at the time.) in Fl about 2 decades ago that came close, but nowhere near the columbian gold. the best i can describe the high from columbian gold is a shroom trip, but without the rubbery lethargic giggily feeling you get.

i got mine from an old vet, nam era, that had grown it for almost 30 years. sadly when he passed away in the mid 90's he took all his secrets and seeds with him. :(

RIP Terry Black, you showed me the ropes, youd be proud...

lol wow i havenever heard someone rave soo much about brick weed from decades ago!!!!! the mexican bud has gotten much stronger today then it was even 10-15 years ago..... and you can take that better mexican bud and compare it to lets say some bubba kush, or some og kush and see here is no comparison... and yes i know there is a lil mexican genetics in chemdog, were og came from

and chi.....

i truely beleive that todays strains trade potency for speed.
a true sativa high from a properly grown lady is a thing of beauty...
and these days a 100% sativa, a real 100% sativa, is not exactly easy to find.
theres a reason all the breeders cross indicas with sativas....

and mexican weed is shit because thats how its grown..... like shit.

give me just about any bagseed and i can make a thing of beauty.
yeah sure it wont be the ideal plant for commercial indoor production, but i guarentee it will put you on the couch asking for some oreos.

i dont care for sativas.... esp unworked with landraces... i will stick with my elite gentics...... and i know most shit is hybridized these days... your right there is a reason for that... indicas are more potent... who wants to pay 60$ an 1/8 for some fluffy ass raggedy foxtailing sativas... not me

lololol yeah ok... genetics plays the biggest role buddy. you can grow anybagseed you want under perfect conditions, and it wont be has dank has my sourkush, a strain i been breeding since 2001

so your saying they cross sativas with indicas because indicas are more potent...
if that was the case, wouldnt it make more sense, and be alot easier to eliminate the sativa altogether and simply backcross the indicas for potency? selective breeding? :p

im no breeder by anymeans, but thats just basic logic... i mean why would they use (according to you) a 'fluffy ass raggedy foxtailing sativa' to cross an indica with, if the indica is the better plant... wouldnt they be watering down the indica genes?

and i sincerely hope if youve been breeding a strain for 9 years it would be more potent than a bagseed... if not, that doesnt say much for your breeding skills

funny you say that cuzz thATS WHAT I DID. I BRED THE SATIVANESS FROM THE ECSD OUT OF MY CROSS THREW SELECTIVE BREEDING... lol go ask howak whats more potent..... 7 out of 10 people preffer indica... there is a reason,,

and im guessing that 7 out of 10 had immature sativas.......
i understand were you stand and i respect it. but if you take the time to look around and ask you will find more people PASSIONENTLY like indicas over sativas, and for more then just the flowering time.....

to each his own...
hell i grow indicas mainly myself, lol.... there so much easier, sativas are generally a pain in the ass to grow; in my exp the only way your gonna make it worthwhile is a massive 8-9 month outdoor op in an ideal climate with the correct soil... gl on that one.

i just like the buzz of a proper sativa over an indica. indicas make me sleepy as hell bout 2 hours after i blaze, which sucks at work....

and i plus rep ya cuz i know you got fucked....

Whoa...lively debate goin on here.
I have to admit that I don't have the connections today that I did back in the 60s and 70s. But I remember all of these strains from the days. They were truly some great smokes! We got quality mexican in bricks and long ass colas in mexican flower sacks. We got Thai sticks tied together like firecrackers in cellophane packs. Acapulco Gold, Guerraran, Michoaacan, Oaxaacan, Panama Red, you name it. The most powerful weed I ever smoked was called Cambodian Black. A buddy came back from Nam with a pack of prerolled 100mm joints in a pack just like Pall Mall but with Cambodian writing. Seven of us lit it and passed it around twice. That was all she wrote! Nobody wanted another hit. I have never even heard of it since.
As far as Columbian Gold...I got it in the 80s and it was ok but didn't hold a candle to Acapulco Gold IMHO. AG had a great flavor to it that I will never forget!
Peace

i have barneys farm acapulco gold going as well. the original from seed stretched a good foot even though it was only in a 2 gallon container. its been cloned, and trashed. the clones are just now starting to show flowers after about a week or two in my hps tent. i hope it shows me some love and grows out some pretty flowers, and doesnt stretch to death. its really about 95 percent sativa probably. its hard to control indoors
