So, obviously its Sunday morning.

And my grandmother wakes up, and gets everyone up
like usual, telling them to get ready for church.

My brother says "I don't believe in religion, so why should
I go to church"

She says "shut up. You're still going."

He says "But I don't believe in religion".

She says "Shut up, and get ready or you're on punishment".

Wtf is that?

If she was a true Christian, she would respect his belief
and let him do as he pleases. She thinks its just a way
for him to get out of going to church.....

But if someone truly doesn't believe in religion,
why try to force it down their throat?

I believe its wrong for parents to force their kids
to believe in religion and God. I say let the kids

think for themselves.

I don't believe in religion. Not to say I don't believe in God,
I just believe there is no way to prove or disprove God.

In other words, I grew up and stopped blindly following
my pastor, my family, and a book thats been rewritten

many times, and started thinking for myself.
I decided I'm not going to live my life by a set of
rules written in a book.
I started to question religion, and when no one could
provide true and correct answers, I stopped believing.
So I guess I consider
myself agnostic...

I asked questions like
"If God created all living things, who created him?"

"If God is perfect, why is there evil in the world?"

Questions like that make me doubt religion and God.

Why can't parents let their children think for themselves
instead of trying to shove religion down their throats?

If only God can judge us, why do Christians judge homosexuals?

I feel if you live your life as a good person, good things
will come to you.....

well buddy, there are three things in the world that you should never talk about and that is religeon,politics and money.

they create arguments and sometimes even wars. i believe in my own thing that is not in any bullshit book written by man.
(man corrupts everything).

i do believe that there is something out there that must have given us life and the ever expanding universe etc but it would be wiser to chill out and live life how you want to live it.

as for your granny or any other person trying to controll your behaviour or actions, it is probably because they have been taught to do this by their parents before them and their parents before them etc.

there needs to be some kind of order in our lives or we would all run wild and do as we please example ( murder, rape, mass murder, terrorism) you get the idea.

what really really makes me laugh at the cristian community is the fact that jesus was born in jeruselem which would make him a possible middle eastern terrorist these days, haha.

the middle east has had conflict for thousands and thousands of years and jesus could possibly have been an attempt by a collaboration of a group much like the nsa of their times, at making peace between the middle eastern tribes or countries for the good of all mankind.

I think that kids should at the least be baptized I am cathlic and I have been told all my life the god is he just is. I do beleave he is there and others gods to but kids will in the end decide for them selfs as we all do we grow up

Children should respect their elders and do what they're told; it's not a new concept.

Just look at how much more disrespectful people are today, than that conformity has been eroded.

But it's up to you; either people will learn self-discipline, and control thier behavior using their own moral inner-compass, or we can live in a state where a tyrannical government keeps you in line. Lawlessness isn't an option

It's a parents job to teach thier children as they see fit. After all the parrent is going to be held responsible if the kid goes off the deepend.

It really doesn't take a village to raise a child, only good parent (s).

Don't get me wrong, I agree that religion is bullshit, but at a young age it's nice to have something to believe in.
Personally, when my son get's older, I'm going to take him to a few different churches, and ask him if there is any one that he would like to continue going to. If he likes going to a certain church, I will let him go there strictly on a voluntary basis.

What if the kid decides he doesn't like going to the dentist?

I think it's funny that these discussions turn in to a pro or con religious argument... but maybe there's something to be said for tradition?
