it has its benafits lol . only problem is shops, nearest shop is 6 miles away, so not perfect, but i get by doing without untill we shop next.
Sadly im surrounded by houses sure the shops close however im 10 minutes from nothing surrounding us is just farms forests rivers etc and almost nothing for bout ten miles so i kinda got best of both worlds minus a nice view from home lol

got 5 polly tunnels and 7 1/2 acres of land. nearest neighbour is 3/4 mile away, so i m extreamly lucky. im planning my own tunnel this year, got £2,000 set aside for it. but wanted to start one off early indoors, then plant it out, just wondered if anyone else has tried one just to see.
were in a valley, so we have our own little micro climate
Most people do that start em in april put em out in mid may after solstice as your doing straight photos and not semis u get away with having em on 18 and 6 no problem alot of gg guys start early and put out check paniks videos out and you will see lol he got some up in youtube those guys are a different level dont worry about hardening off if there big enough they be fine

It's that time of year again, I've been getting some odds and ends for the season, bargain hunting time, there's a few worth sharing I thought.

Coco from ebay 75ltr £15
It doesn't hold as much water volume as canna which imo makes it brilliant for seeds and clones in particular.
View attachment 5374193
Hydrogen peroxide, outside of hydroponic circles it's a sight cheaper, £14 for 5ltr 12% delivered compared to £10 per litre 12% from growth technology.
I bought a liter of growth technology H202 a while back and discovered its shrunk from 17.5% peroxide to 11.95% peroxide, robbing bstds.

Calmag i don't need for growing but i do need it for buffering coco.
1ltr of canna calmag cost me £11/12, its roughly a 3‐1 ratio 2.5% magnesium and 8% calcium.

Hydrocrop dry powder calmag £14 for 6ltr, the 6ltr is roughly 3-1 ratio again only it's 6% magnesium and 18% calcium so that's roughly 3x more concentrated?

Take it easy folk's
Growell 315w cmh 4k complete kit £60 for the weekend -15% then £70 after Sunday midnight.
I watched a cmh bulb test on Migro iirc 5% diffrence between the most expensive cmh bulbs and cheapest cmh bulbs available.

I'm about to finish off my irrigation system, I've bought the hydro halos and the reservoir and the pump and the timers and the wavemaker and everything and I'm just wondering if I need to add anything to the reservior to keep it from going stagnant or from building up algae or slime or something, like h202 or something? I'm growing in coco so I will be watering up to 5 times per day in flower

Its not essential if you're mixing up fresh nutrient regularly, a small pump is ideal.

That said some chlorine or H202 doesn't go wrong, I add 4/5 ppm of chlorine to my nutrient tank.

Eta...It's worth mentioning the reservoir needs to be light tight to prevent algae.

I've bought one of these 100L reserviors for £60 with no tap https://hytechydroponics.com/products/iws-flexi-tank-no-tap I'm not sure if it will be light tight or not. I ordered it the other day and it should be delivered soon so I'm just hoping that it has a hole at the top to put the flexible tube through it to help prevent any light from getting into it. I will be using tap water to fill my reservior up and I believe tap water already has chlorine in? Would I still need to add extra chlorine into the reservior? I have a EC pen and it doesn't read in ppm so I wouldn't know how to go about measuring 4/5 ppm unless I got a new meter that reads in ppm, my pen reads like 0.1, 0.2 0.3 EC. Also, if I do need to add extra h202 or chlorine would you be able to recommend a product to me? does it need to be a certain strength or anything? I found this on eBay and I'm not sure if it would work or not https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/126325502841

Hey bud, yes that H202 you linked would be fine, I like that it's in a black container.
I can give you a link for £14 but the black container is worth the £2 extra imo.

Tbh I'd be surprised if your tank isn't light tight, worst case some black and white panda.
if you're using H202 you don't need to bother with chlorine.

If you do ever use chlorine (pool shock) you make a stock solution with it then take 1ml stock solution and add to 10ltr of nutrient, the instructions for it are readily available if you need them ask here.

I use bio-chlor chlorine tablets, 1 tablets does 2.5k litres at 5ppm so that makes it easy to work out the actual ppm of chlorine from a stock solution.

I was thinking about using the Hydrogen Peroxide (11.99%) but I'm not sure how much I would need to add to 100 liters of water in my reservior and when I would need to use it. Would I use it everytime the reservior is empty? After each time I re-fill the reservior?

1ml per liter for daily use or 2ml per litre for less frequent use, if you check the growth technology website you'll find all you need to know about it.

Any questions bud just ask.

Thanks man. I'm just a bit confused with it all because I've been hand watering for the last 10 years and I've never done an automated system with a reservoir and stuff before. So do I just add 100ml of hydrogen peroxide to my 100 liter reservior every day or do I wait for all the water to be used first and then re-fill it and add another 100ml of hydrogen peroxide? I'm guessing my plants will use about 20 or 30 liters per day when they are in flower so a full reservior should last about 2 or 3 days

It would depend on how quickly you're getting through the nutrient, in a tank H202 lasts around 4 day's.
If you're reservior is taking 6/7 days to empty the initial 100 ml when you 1st mix it would be fine imo, alternatively you could add 50ml on the 4th day just to keep it active, that said a short time of it being inactive isn't going to cause problems as there's not enough time for nasties to develop.

We've all been where you are, just take it a step at a time, you'll be fine there's a lot of experience in this thread to help you.
