Grams Per Watt, What Is Your Norm?

I'm with all of you on wanting top quality over mids. Just looking to see what to expect for high grade yields. I don't know who would mess with mids.

With that being said, yield means a lot to me considering I need to have enough medicine to make it to next harvest. Running out halfway through next grow is not an option for me. I use about 1/2 per week. 2 zips a month. Growing 5 1/2 zips isn't gonna cut it.

I have a feeling, reading the comments, that upgrading lights and size of grow will be necessary to achieve the yield I'm aiming for. (Aside from quality genetics)

Thank you all for all your input.
Upgrading your grow environment will definitely increase your yields. It sounds like yield is an important factor so if you need to upgrade then get it done. Don't be running out of medicine between grows.

Good luck. :eyesmoke:

3g+ per watt is good

Im confused.. Is this just some other random grower's journal?
I have filled a 2x2 and didnt see near 3 gpw dried with stem removed. If that is a 2x2, it is not near full, and more like 6 to 8 oz dry if that.

It sounds like you need roughly the same amount of yield as I do per run for me and my wife. If you are using 56 grams a month shoot for 280 grams or 10 ounces a run minimum. That way if you're completing a run in 4 months you're using 8 ounces and building a surplus of 2 ounces for your rainy day fund that will come in handy when shit goes wrong, and it will. I'm able to exceed that in a 4x4 tent with a 425 watt led that's fairly old technology by most people's opinions, mine included. I run autos and photos and can exceed my yield goals with both so just figure on needing at least close to 300 true watts of led minimum to make it easier. I have no idea on CMH or HPS lights as far as what they would take but I'm sure others can chime in if you want to go that route. What size tent are you in now and what light are you using?

You should look into SOG style growing if you aren't stuck on a low plant count. I ran a perpetual SOG garden for 11 years. I used to pull 8-12 ounces(yield depended on strain being ran) every 2-3 weeks under a single aircooled 1k hps in a 4x4 flood tray in a 5x5ish flower room, and a 2x4 flood tray and light set up for veg with a small 2x2 clone spot. roughly 10-12 clones went into flower every 2-3 weeks at about 7inches tall and finished about 25 inches tall and averaged about 20g per plant. If I monocropped certain genetics I could get over 30g per plant but I liked variety and max yield was never my priority, I always focused on quality first. We ALWAYS had premium-quality buds and always had plenty to share with friends.

Edit. usually, I was around .9 g/w with a 1k hps and mixed genetics which I felt good about but I did achieve about 1.2 g/w on a few runs that got monocropped

Low need. One plant. Freebie auto just to get started and see how it went. 3 watts/gram. Over a years supply for me. Not gonna quit the day job anytime soon.

It depends on how you grow, strains, how you fill your space, what lighting, veg time, what veg lighting ect ect ect..

But yeah with all the right ingredients 1.5gpw is achieved and seen much higher claimed too.

It's only a dick measuring exercise anyway because there's better metrics for measuring your growing ability or commercial production evaluation.

Better to have less of the highest quality than a boat load of average product, but as usual its horses for courses
I’d rather have an oz of A+ over a lb of B-

The thing with running autos is you don't need a veg room you can just add new plants as you harvest them and there is some lovely genetics out there (ex Mephisto)

I weighed 39 ounces, but it wasn't completely dry, so there was no way I was about to weigh all that shit again. Will definitely not bother weighing anything next time.
