I dont get people not allowing cut to get out to the public. Never been that type of person.

I get people want to protect investments and worried about losing out on money but thats whack to me.

If it is good medicine/flavor/effect then why wouldn't you want to share it with the world?

Reminds me of the kids in school with wealthy parents not letting us poor kids play with their toys.

He doesn't name anyone specific, but just about every other post is bashing cringy stereotypical cannabis enthusiast drivel, with school-yard bully style commentary. I get that this is entertaining sometimes, and he's often correct, but we're talking most of the posts. This is just my observation over following his account for some time. Signal to noise ratio a little out of whack. I'd rather see his breeding efforts showcased so I can know just how badass that rootbeer is. We don't get a whole lot of that from him though.

I don't mean to criticize otherwise. I'm sure he puts out some fine products. ;-)

Some people like to post social memes and work on their cult of personality. Some people like to concentrate on their work. I follow a lot of different breeders and I see the difference. Guess where my money goes?

I'll get off the thread now since I'd also like to know where to find rootbeer crosses, LOL.

I hear you and actually agree on many of your points like choices shouldn't be made with money in mind but rather sharing what has been created etc...

I dont think hes keeping the rootbeer cuts in a tight circle to make money off of it, I think its more to keep it out of the wrong hands so that they cant abuse it to make money off it etc. as if you've ever bred, will know its a lot of work to actually take something from unworked lines and make something new thats stable and will carry over the genetics over generations... that takes skill and work.

many of the hype strains we have out here... im not going to get into it...

I've been know to do some pollen chucking. If people hold a cut because they're worried about it being used by others to make money then it is definitely about money.

I just figure what's the point of holding something the world would enjoy? There is no logical reason other than money.

If I created something great, I’d want to share the flower and it’s effects of my most favorite cuts, and would make seeds but would most likely (and currently do) only share my AAA+ prized cuts with friends, and only sell cuts that are still great, but never better than my Personal cuts

to each their own.
sometimes about Money, sometimes the old school way to generate real hype. Make something really wanted and make it hard to get and never sell it, only sell its flowers...only gift cuts to close friends...etc

Did you snag them like a day or two ago lol? Bc I found em the other night and they had 9 in stock and then I posted the link on a discord im in and then only 7 were in stock haha

I should have some root brother f2 in less then 3 months. Just need to flip them. Only got 8 out of ten so hopefully i get a male if not then no f2 from me but will probably keep a cut of whatever seems the best maybe... in veg some do smell like rootbeer i guess (there is a few different phenos). So far nothing special imo. Flowering out n curing it and smoking it will see what the hype is about.

Ive bought into hype of other strains and yeah it may turn out nice and all but I can’t wait to finish running all that dumb shit so i can grow the strains i enjoy truly smoking and not something that smells nice or because its hype.

You might look at Hermetic Genetics Root Beer Float for sarsparilla terps. No experience with it myself but I've heard good things. Not sure if it's related to Mean Gene's or not.

I feel you. A rootbeer cross is much different ball game than the straight up root beer. A chance to get a glimpse at it but also so much of a chance to get a large variation of the parents, esp dependent on the breeders work.

not to mention growing skill coming into play on how well a cut or seeds perform and express their full genetic expression...we can have a whole discussion on how different growing styles and environments can have an effect on the morphology of a cut of the same genetics

You should listen to some of his interviews! He seems like a very mindful, respectful dude. He says anytime he trolls someone it's because he's friends with them. He definitely doesn't take things seriously on IG and finds the whole cannabis scene to be a trip.
