:shock: Republicans cheating, no way :o :-P

I don't know what all this hooplah about registration fraud is all about anyway. You have to show ID to vote. It doesn't matter how many people have registered only people who actually show up with ID and vote are the ones that matter.

It won't be that simple this year..It'll be worse then 2000 ...2004..they're losing so let the fix begin..they are in control of the voting process... the lawyers are already to go... the machines are fixed.... why is it an atm works fine, but a voting machine.......... ??

It doesn't matter who the people vote in, it's the electorial college that makes the decision, citizens be-damned. Just ask Al Gore, he'll tell you all about it.

Palin will end up a brief footnote in the history books as the person who helped lose an election. See "also ran". LOL. To think she's an up and comer and will be relevant in 2-4 years is laughable.

I hope she dissappears as quickly as she showed up. I'm sure we'll hear more about here though, cookin books, running up giant expense account, Her other 2 daughters getting pregnant in the next 4 years. She'll probably squeeze out a couple more kids herself, seeing that she must not know about condoms.

Definitely. Given that the GOP economic policies disproportionately benefit the very wealthy, they have relied on the politics of fear and hatred for the last forty years to get themselves elected.

Exhibit 1: Nixon's "Southern Strategy" Southern strategy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Exhibit 2: Bush's 2000 campaign for the Republican nomination

Exhibit 3: the GOPAC memo.

Exhibit 4: Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Dan (or is it Michael?--I always get those two confused) Savage.

The most enjoyable thing about this season is that this is the year that it all falls apart. Gingrich warned them back in the spring that these sleazy tactics were not going to work this year. It's a shame (from their point of view) that no-one paid any attention to him.

P.S. Twisty, don't forget the $13,000 a month they're spending on Palin's hair and make-up.

I think you are confused.

People who don't like Palin don't like her because she abuses her power first hand. She can't answer questions about current issues. So they are hating because she is dumb. Which is understandable.

Obama on the other hand has more haters due to race than policy.

There is a huge difference between those 2 type of hatred.

Apparently McCain and his campaign and/or the RNC have violated the 2002 McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reform Act with that little shopping spree.

SEC. 313. USE OF CONTRIBUTED AMOUNTS FOR CERTAIN PURPOSES.
(a) PERMITTED USES-

...
(b) PROHIBITED USE-

(1) IN GENERAL- A contribution or donation described in subsection (a) shall not be converted by any person to personal use.
(2) CONVERSION- For the purposes of paragraph (1), a contribution or donation shall be considered to be converted to personal use if the contribution or amount is used to fulfill any commitment, obligation, or expense of a person that would exist irrespective of the candidate's election campaign or individual's duties as a holder of Federal office, including--
(A) a home mortgage, rent, or utility payment;
(B) a clothing purchase;
(C) a noncampaign-related automobile expense;
(D) a country club membership;
(E) a vacation or other noncampaign-related trip;
(F) a household food item;
(G) a tuition payment;
(H) admission to a sporting event, concert, theater, or other form of entertainment not associated with an election campaign; and
(I) dues, fees, and other payments to a health club or recreational facility.'

.
.
.
Sec. 323
'(a) NATIONAL COMMITTEES-

'(1) IN GENERAL- A national committee of a political party (including a national congressional campaign committee of a political party) may not solicit, receive, or direct to another person a contribution, donation, or transfer of funds or any other thing of value, or spend any funds, that are not subject to the limitations, prohibitions, and reporting requirements of this Act.
'(2) APPLICABILITY- The prohibition established by paragraph (1) applies to any such national committee, any officer or agent acting on behalf of such a national committee, and any entity that is directly or indirectly established, financed, maintained, or controlled by such a national committee.

Did you see whose the highest paid member of the McCain campaign team during the first half of this month?

Not Randy Scheunemann, Mr. McCain’s chief foreign policy adviser; not Nicolle Wallace, his senior communications staff member. It was Amy Strozzi, who was identified by the Washington Post this week as Gov. Sarah Palin’s traveling makeup artist, according to a new filing with the Federal Election Commission on Thursday night.

Ms. Strozzi, who was nominated for an Emmy award for her makeup work on the television show “So You Think You Can Dance?”, was paid $22,800 for the first two weeks of October alone, according to the records.

Just regular Joe Six-Pack hockey mom, right?

Sadly enough, it doesn't seem to be working...

The percentage of white women viewing her favorably dropped 21 points since early September, among independent women it fell 24 points. More broadly, the intensity of negative feelings about Palin are also notable: 40 percent of voters have "strongly unfavorable" views, more than double the post-convention number. Nearly half of independent women now see her in a very negative light, a nearly three-fold increase.
