Which lights do you think are better?

Why am I getting so many different answers? Another guy told me that two of the Viparspectras would be be overkill. He said he can get two Ps off of two plants with two 450 VIPARSPECTRAS!!! He isn't a 20 year grower either. He is ALSO growing AUTOFLOWER when he grows those tow Ps, in a 5x5 and gets them!!! It sounded crazy to me but I believe him. I've seen a few other grows of the viparspectras as well and they didn't seem AS huge as HID or HPS but they did seem pretty big. HID are a no no. I don't want the heat at all.

I'm asking questions (in general) so please guys don't bash me. Why is it there are some people who say they can get a gram or more a watt off these LED and some say you can't?

Is my goal of a P a plant on this setup too far fetched???
Gonna get some heat if you use crap LEDs that are inefficient and not well thermally managed.

wouldnt hurt to read a bit about LED efficiency. the two leds you mentioned will put out about as much heat as an HID
That's funny because no one ever mentions that... So I would get damn near the same amount of heat. Why is it that people are saying they run two of these, do test and say they are getting anywhere from 77-81c then? I'm just curious because a 600w hps (should) produce about 98c. They Run at very high temperatures no? I did a little reading and you'r right, so why are people claiming to get lower temps with this cheap lights and good yields. People who use HPS lights even use these so I don't get it.

What I'm reading right now is HPS and MH get hotter then LED. They don't say what type. They just say LED.

You have just barely touched the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the LED Grow-light realm.....Vast amounts of half truths, misleading claims, bro science abound....Keep digging. You've come to the right place, your arrow is pointing in the right direction....

Thanks man, really appreciate the ind words... I started out with a really bad plan and slowly I noticed i'm doing the right things taking my time. I hope to be able to show something on here one day that I can be proud of.

Unfortunately this is a pot forum, you have honest and respectable people but also trolls, ego trips and straight retards praising 60lm/w led panels.

600 watts is 600 watts, TRUE

300 watts of par and 300w of thermal loss will have the same heat as 500w par and 100w thermal loss = FALSE

efficiency is still important with LED.

my 600w HID def gives off heat, but with an inline fan kit, and 2 small oscillating fans i keep temps steady at 77-80f in my 4x4

I was also told similar info as you were just last week, by the guy who runs the hydro store in my city, he claimed to be hitting 1lb per mars hydro 600w light ( and it wasnt even the reflector series, just the base cheap ass mars 600w) , claims he grew 2 plants in 4x4 under 2 mars lights and got 2lbs, i called him on it and asked him some pretty basic questions and he turned all kinds of colors with zero answers that made any sense.

I did alot of research regarding yeilds and grow spaces /plant numbers and the lights required. his shop dont sell any lights worth buying, it was very obvious he was full of shit. Few days ago i find out he actually hasnt grown a crop to completion yet, was obviously just spouting bullshit to try and sell his awesome cheap old tech lights.

Oh I don't have a problem investing for it, it's just that I always have higher then normal expectations for everything and I am just trying to get started and learn, with a moderate yield. i know two is a lot lol.

Theoretically, what could I yield from this setup in optimal form?
It depends on how you are growing, but it's all about the PAR watts. For instance, a 600w LED at 50% efficiency is 300 par watts and since most of it is direct to canopy it will perform about the same as a 1000W SE bulb. Easily hit 2 in hydro. Somewhat less in soil but still close if you're good. If you're wanting to hit 2 in soil realistically you would need around 350-360 PAR watts from LED, same as 700w at 50% efficiency, 600w at 60% efficiency, etc.

The thing about the brand you mentioned and the majority of LED grow lamps is that they can make money pretending to be better than HPS, but they're not obligated to provide any real output numbers and for the most part they don't, just spot readings under the lamp that don't represent the intended space. PAR watts, or PPF / umol/j are the only numbers that really count. Know what you are buying.

Lmfao that's f***ing hilarious lol.

Figures this was going to be like that, it IS a forum after all... I deleted a post but you said it for me lol. watch?v=9fJZVfOd5l8 Copy that on to the end of a YouTube URL. Why is this guy looking like he is getting massive weight from a auto on a 400w Mars???!!!

So right now I am still thinking about those Hipargero lights... What do you think just by going off of the reviews and what their charts do say, if they were legit. I understand that almost anything with power runs at a lower efficiency. That's why I was trying to get three of those for the 5x5 and maybe 4-5 plants. If someone could help me out with the technicals of those lights it'd be great. Because I im not sure by what their charts say, if they are any good anyways. But seeing as how someone in there reviews even said they are better then the Viparspectras, i'm leaning towards them. I can't really invest in the lights i want right now but need the 5x5 for later.

The only chart they have is a center spot reading with side readings at 2m height which doesn't make much sense especially when you consider they don't provide a scale. Nowhere do they list PPF or PAR watts therefore I cannot help you out with the technicals of those lights except to say I would avoid them.

If you took a closer look in the reviews section, in the pictures section a person measure PAR and gave it 5 stars. I don't know how smart he is but I would think if he knows how to measure par and gives an in depth review of the product AND gives it 5 stars, Is his word worth anything? I am listening to you guys though.
