I'm just amazed at what you say, HLG now has Heatless led lights?

Please enlighten us on cheap ways to generate heat in the grow space when temps are too low and also how to maintain adequate co2 levels when our extraction fans never exchange the air from the grow space due to cool temps....
Switch to CMH.

I'm just amazed you can't read "with the amount of heat an LED produces, which isn't much". As to your comment about generating heat, he can always close the windows a little further which will change the ambient temps of the room and the closet hes growing in, rather then forking out for ducting and huge extraction fans because a hps puts off a lot of heat.

And if led light isn't raising temps in his tent / room to a proper level?

I respectfully disagree.
For a good environment, extraction and replenishment is a must anyway.
I get away with a single extraction fan. Also one booster fan on my hood. Canopy temps hover around 26 - 27'C. It's cold where I am too. Hps saves me money in my circumstances. I spend much less on heating than I would with led.
I get away with no air-con during mid summer too. 35'C, sometimes 40'C days.
Nine months of the year, the nights here are sub 10'C. I live in the worst micro climate for dope.

I think lighting needs are really subjective.
Imho that's why it's such an endless debate, without a clear winner.

^^^^100%.

If you need the heat, HPS can't be beat.

Is that a yaetek 600?? I own one. Not bad for the money but only draw 220w at the wall with both switches turned on for full spectrum.
It's a Viparspectra 900 Reflector Series.
Imho. Not worth a buy.
Makes a lousy door stop.too. I'm tripping over it all the time, and if I stand it on its end my door pushes it over......

I also agree, but then when he puts his HPS in a 3x3, without spending a reasonable amount of money on extraction (which he doesn't want to do.) then his plants will die from heat stress. hes mentioned he can only afford enough for a 900w vS light, which is around £200, i'd rather spend that on a HLG LED then a HPS knowing he doesn't have extra money to cool or extract the amount of heat a hps puts off compared to having bought a LED knowing i can control colder temps better. Also hes growing in a closet, not to mention its coming up to summer soon, there a lot of factors involved, where he puts his closet, the climate he lives in, what are his methods of extraction, etc etc, but when it comes down to what hes asking, i'd rather have a quality LED in a cooler grow space then a HPS in a hotter one, especially knowing the quality LED will last 10 times longer then the HPS and giving me more funds in the future to play with extraction.

also when i say LED i don't mean a crappy mars hydro or viparspectra i mean, a good one.

A good one runs a lot cooler. Which isn't good for me.
Believe it or not my canopy temps were a lot hotter than my hid, with the vipar.
Imho canopy temps should be a few degrees warmer than the room too. It emulates the sun really nicely. Plants love it.
Remember heat rises too. So it's only really the top the hid heats. Imo, if your fan isn't strong enough to cope with a little extra heat in the top of your space, you don't have good enough air exchange anyway :peace:
Hps suits me perfectly.

I put a couple of the 300w (135w) ones in my veg spot. I'm not bitching about them. I only run a few in there, but they seem to get the clones up to flowering height on time. Node growth is good (caveat: I'm growing the same strain in there always, so I'm quite familiar with it), and I have good stalk growth.

That said, all plants flower under a 600w HPS. Until I decide the ROI is advantageous to me it will stay that way.

Pretty sure that cobs/QB tech and price tag are gonna be the tits in the near future:peace:
The future is here my friend.

This plant could have been so much thicker and denser it’s a shame really hoping to try and be able to get a tent otherwise this is the best my little blurples are gonna be able to do
Looks good to me...what size room did you grow it in? I have a tent and I hope that my first grow will look like that!!!ill I be happy to grow any size bud on my first grow!!!

Shit dude,my tent is 2x2x3,ive got this shit all rigged up,I'm freestyling this joint til I get a bigger tent, but that won't be until I move out of this house and get a full basement or a more private spare room...theres just too much in and out of this room cause it connects to the garage...but it's working for now!!!1525744201629445499623.jpg My two biggest autos...32 days from seed...
