i've been at work all day, buddy.

i'm pretty sure i offered to front some money to baldrick when i heard about this, but he said he was determined to find a way to pay you back.

baldrick always paid me on time and without many issues. and if there was one he explained it reasonably and then made good.

how much does he owe ya? i'll get cracking on it.
Thank you. That is an extremely generous offer.

But the point for me isn't the money. It is the principle of the thing, and Baldrick's posted fantasies point to the truth of the matter: he is a thief with two known victims on this forum.

So, according to the results of this poll on this thread, most RIU members think that the government should shut down.
We were right, because it did happen.
Now we'll have to see how long it lasts, and I say fuck the Republicans and Trump, the Dems should at least match the record that the Republicans set in 2013 with a 16 day shutdown over Obamacare.
That would be justice.

this would've been my choice:

long, long ago in a kingdom far away called Dover, New Jersey, Schuylaar went to an E Street
Band concert..ahhh the cocaine days..I met CC..the biggest man I've ever seen white black or anything and man! could he wail!!!..it was a small venue and i was right up front.

The US government is facing a total shutdown, starting tonight at midnight, if a bipartisan deal cannot be reached on the status of DACA.

Of course the Republican led House and Senate will blame the Democrats if this occurs, and rightfully so, because this is what a true Democracy looks like.

If the Republicans have the votes needed, and they are in the majority, then vote and pass your fucked up legislation.

But they don't have the votes needed, even on their side, so shut the fuck up and blame yourselves

The Democrats failed to stop that tax bill, which was a give away to the corporations and the wealthy, while giving crumbs to the rest of the country, so now is the time to say enough is enough, and stand up for what is right, and that is to let the over 700,000 Dreamers stay in this country, and not face deportation to countries they never knew.

That is the right thing to do, and the Democrats have a moral obligation too make sure it happens

The person that should be blamed is Trump, with his insistence on tying his $18 billion "Great wall, a really great wall" to the bill, a wall that he insists to this day will be paid for by Mexico, (like that will ever happen)

So, what do you think?

Let the government shut down in support of the Dreamers, or give Trump his fucking wall, and let it operate normally.

4..3..2..and..government shut down has now commenced..keep your hands and legs in the ride..

so you're concern lies with the deaths of mexicans by coyote and THAT'S why we NEED a wall?
That is the only upside to a wall that I can see. And yes, I hate the fact that people are being abused and dying from trying to enter illegally, you know, real Mexican lives. I would like to see DACA and full immigration reform get done, but I do not believe it can be done politically at this time without the wall first. As always, just my opinion and I could be wrong.

Urban metropolitan areas, or as you refer, city folk, make up the majority of the population, and the majority of the voting population. How can the majority be out of touch?

Please tell me you've got more than just, "uhh duhh, majority of what".
city people make up the voting majority, and they get to vote about shit they know nothing about. they don't live in rural areas and don't deal with the same problems. they assume things and believe what their favorite talking heads tell them, and have no clue about what life is like as little as 50 miles from their own homes. they aren't farmers, never been farmers, and have no fucking clue about any of the issues that effect farmers...that's how the majority can be out of touch

sadly fronts are for fools..they'll get you every time. no offense, but if they don't have today; they won't have tomorrow because they be needing something else; past is gone. unfortunately, it's one the the only things you can produce from nothing and make something = it's literally money. anything having to do with money will corrupt. I learned the hard way, too..all that time..i'd rather keep it and smoke myself.
newp..IRS is still open.

You are right my friend. My bad, I should have looked that up before I said something.

A wall will not stop drugs but I believe it will significantly reduce both the numbers of people prayed on by coyotes and deaths that occur with illegal crossings. Plus, it is the only path to comprehensive immigration reform. So I can live with it.
The wall is stupid, just like the dumb motherfucker that thinks it will do any good. China has a used one for sale... maybe? That one didn't work so well either.
