Hi All,
*First off, I do not work or am affiliated with any Lighting company, what I built was purely for a hobby and have no intention of selling anything so Please do not ask. I will disclose where I sourced my parts if any are curious. Inspiration of this came from the Dawg using those 1750k meat chips.
Secondly I am open to any criticism or advice or help, thanks in advance.
Cobs came from Digi Key, they are the D version vero 10 2000k
Strips came from Alibaba just a samsung lm561c strip with 96 diodes.
Drivers came from Mousser
Metal came from local metal supply,
rest of stuff came from local electronics store and home depot, lowes.
Here's a quick cost breakdown of total light
strips = 60 Cad
Veros = 41 Cad
Drivers
hlg-120h-c1400b = 61$ Cad
elg-75-350a = 40$ Cad
Heatsinks = 35$ Cad(just 1.5",1.25" 1/8" aluminum u channel).
Artic silver Thermal Paste = 20$ Cad
Screws and bits and crap = 20$
All in around 270$ Cad to build and thats with shipping and duties etc.
* I do use 2 Panasonic Panaflo 24v Fans for running at 100% to provide effective cooling
* This cost an additional 10 bucks.
I ordered some Vero 10 2000ks because I was looking to supplement my 3500k samsung lm561 diodes. I wanted something low power and am blown away by these little guys.
They are 6 diodes being run at 350 ma each, running around 9 watts each for a total of 54w.
The Samsung's are being driven at 1400ma which is about 116.6667 ma per diode. 8s12p 96 total per strip, 400mm x 30mm.
All 4 cranked to 100% which reads about 130w. Both channels on full reads just over 180w.
I wanted to make a single fixture that could handle both veg and flower, I chose 3500k because it was a good mix but felt it was lacking alot. The samsungs are connected to a dimmer so I can dim them down to adjust it to make it heavier towards the 2000k spectrum as I need.
First is both.
2nd is just 3500k
3rd is just 2000k
As I mentioned, I am blown away by how bright and powerful these little cobs are. They are fantastic for supplementing if you want a boost for flower. I highly recommend this if your looking to supplement your lighting.
