US Federal Debt Is Expanding At The Fastest Rate Since The Crisis

Meanwhile, the OP and the retards like the OP don't understand that National Debt, though high is not the only number to reflect on. We also have this thing called GDP, which is also very high, and is a good thing. It is currently at 16.8 Trillion. Which puts us in a deficit of around $2.9 trillion. When Clinton (Bill) was in office, we had a surplus. We still had a national debt, but our GDP was higher than our national debt, so we had a surplus. Then when W took over and the Republican party turned the US economy into a shitstorm, we had a large deficit. Then 2007-08 happened, again thanks to W and the Republican party. In order for us to survive that mess with a simple recession, we had to increase our national debt to "pay for things". And ever since the Republican party took over both house and senate, not much has happened in policy to make any substantial changes. It hasn't helped that Obama has been rather pro war.

A 3 trillion dollar deficit is large, but it is reversible. The political powers that be have to change it. Electing people who want to be partisan and who want to continually play the blame game are only going to make matters worse.

The budget deficit is 560 Billion. I think you are using mickey mouse math and don't really understand the concepts being used here.

That's one hell of a hopeful statement being there has never been an economic windfall to hit the USA creating the $20 Trillion dollar surplus you say america will make look like chump change, not even the vast surpluses america had after ww2.

$1 billion dollars = one thousand X $1million dollars !
$1 trillion dollars = one million X $1million dollars.
$20 trillion dollars = twenty million X $1million dollars.

for more perspective on how much money $20 trillion dollars is it amounts to well over twice the entire GDP of the worlds largest economy of China .

So to pay off our $20 Trillion dollar national debt the USA needs to pay out $1million dollars 20 million times, not including billions in interest.

If every last one of the 15 million americans lucky enough to have a job had an additional $100,000 dollars tacked onto our current taxes the net would pay about half the $20 trillion dollar national debt .

Obama has left america fucked,if our credit was cut off the USA would be a 3rd world country overnight, let's hope your right but I can find no economic model that promotes such optimism .
Thanks for the fukin maths lesson

Republican cries for anything, is ONLY effective to the dumb-dumbs willing to listen. And unfortunately, since we've all but ruined education in this country, there are a shit ton of dumb-dumbs.

Government controlled "education" in the USA has worked exactly as it was intended to.

It was and is instrumental in abetting the perpetuation of the warfare / welfare state.

The government serves itself. When the money runs out and the economy collapses they will have plenty of food and guns, no worries. Your fucked however....

lol. Ok, so you concede our national debt is only 17.33 trillion. Not nearly as bad as you claimed earlier.

Thanks for clearing that up.

hey not everybody knows wtf a trillion dollars is,I wasn't sure until I looked it up so I'm betting a good portion of the people here didn't know.

seriously, how often have you ever used the numbers of trillions in day to day life ? wasn't personal man but a trillion don't sound bad until its shown to be a million million .

Republicans just gave $38 billion (over 10 years) to Israel

Their cries about the debt/deficit aren't very effective in light of things like that
I will go one better, without Republicans Obama couldn't have spent 10 Trillion or whatever the new number they give today is,a Democrat wrote the checks & republicans authorized the checks.

were fucked

You forgot to take your meds this morning.

governments intentional dumbing down of the US school system explained here,in depths few to none will bother watching, hopefully somebody has a spare hour to learn what's happened in turning US schools into factory's of indoctrination .
@Rob Roy have you watched this & heard it ? I'm positive the claims to discredit her will flow like a river from those who couldn't be bothered to listen to her lecture.

yeah rob Roy is 100% correct when talking about US schools & colleges .

I used to think like you are talking about here but I no longer do,the division in america is the strongest I've ever saw,use the ideals here at RIU as an example, left refuses to respond to right unless to slander & vice versa, its the same way in schools & the work place.

do you really think a bipartisan government is possible no matter which of these candidates we elect ? partisan politics is only a small part of the problem IMO,I'm seeing corruption at every level across party lines as the biggest obsticale to economic stability .
