Autoflowers, HID vs LED???

Hey Everyone,
Righto. I want what I can't have! Grow Northern no longer produces there Holographic Series 1 lights, which are an led unit operating on only 75watts.
I am an avid Autoflower grower and have been using HID for as long as I can remember with outstanding results, but substantial operating costs.
My question to the LED guys is, who makes a good quality, full spectrum cob, that will not give me a stroke when I am told price?
Also with an impressive footprint. I understand the tech is relatively new and spectrums just being dialled in for mj growing.
P.s I'm in Australia and don't really have a network of people like myself here to talk to. Just blokes at hydro shop that haven't been game enough to start stocking high end LEDs.
Peace

Amare tech se-450 2 lights in one. Not just a cob unit like many others. The 450 has 6 Cree 3070 cobs and also 168 watts of top bin Cree 5 watt diodes. Msrp is 1145. Best warranty, best customer service and the nicest light I have laid my hands on. Yeah there is cheaper options but money is irrelevant to me when it comes to quality.

Check out the led section. DIY is probably your best bet. If you were looking at a grow northern before, you're gonna get more efficiency at a much lower cost per watt with Cobs.

About as easy as it can get, should be a video also.
I agree with that 100% on the other hand my OCD gets the best of me. I'd be at the paint shop getting my aluminum channel painted to match my floor tile. All inclusive sometimes works for people like me.

My next room will defo have some of cutters cobs in it. Maybe some of those fancy 8 bulb t5's with all the diff spectrums, some home made screw in LED lights, an Amare or 2. I might even rip off the local gas station lighting.

I had been researching the Amare unit for about three weeks and I do believe it is the best quality led out.
my question with this light is how do you integrate the UVB bulb with the others as too much UVB can be bad?

I haven't used the uv yet but I hear people put it on tab timers where they run it for 15 on 15 off in flower only. There are separate plugs so it can go into a separate timer as well

Makes good sense....
Now I think I'm gonna get one!

The thing about UV is it has to be so close.. i have seen a few growers use UV tube bulbs and yes they got more trics but the bulb must be very very close!! To close for LED.
Amare is nice stuff.. just pricey!!! If I had the 1200 id go for it!!!

Part of the store's problems are hi-intensity white based LED CoB panels cost considerably more than the cheap chinese junk blue/red panels

I have grown some pretty decent bud using Cree screw bulbs in cheap vanity fixtures, as well as LED HOT5s. Just mix neutral white with warm white. In veg 1:3, in flower 3:1-2

Some of the newer bulbs like my Agromax Pure UV bulb DO NOT need to be so close, actually further away than the COB's

The most expensive lights have ever purchased were 2 kind k5 1000 watt panels. After they died in 2 weeks they were destroyed sending them back to the company. They won't take them back now and won't fix them either. 2880$ for 2 piles of shit that aren't worth .20 cents. I think the Amare's are inexpensive considering. Talk to victor and anyone will see why they are a number one light.

I'm still rocking those Mars 192x3 I have 2 of them.. they cost me 575 for both well over a year ago!! I have not stopped using them either. Ive lost about 8 400nm blue diodes but i dont care!! the thing about mars is some are good and most are not!! Tina did send me more diodes so il pop em off and put new ones on..
I use lamps the same as i use my snap on tools.. to get the "job" done!!!

Some are good and most are not!! Now that was some funny shit coming from an owner. I also have some of the older Mars that I should have kept using but the kinds seemed to fit well for my needs and in my area. I wish I done some research first so it's my own fault.

Guys I'm looking at the LED's myself.Too much pretty stuff getting produced under them not too and the cost to run HP's is killing. I Iike to keep my light bill on $300! Has anyone tried these? My local supplied just got em in. Pricey. I guess I will have to bite the bullet and give em a try soon...https://kindledgrowlights.com/product-category/products/k5-series/ He is asking $1650 for the K5 XL-1000 and about $1399 for the K55 XL-750... :weed:

Don't be another kind led victim. It's an overpriced turd. You want cheap inefficient leds? Grab some Mars 300s from eBay for $60 per and stick them over a 1.5'x1.5' each. You might actually increase your electric bill though lol. If you want to actually cut the electric bill you're gonna need quality leds not the "kindest mix of 3 and 5 watt chips with the kindest spectrum through the kindest lenses that kinda emits light...".

My kinds burned out after 2 weeks and they were sent back. Ruined in shipping and now they won't fix them since they are damaged. They are in California and who knows when I'll get them back. Even if I do get them back they are useless now just as much as new. not only cause I had a bad experience but they are no where near efficient. I did 1/2 grow with them in total, while some leds weren't working. just seeing preflowers and the plants are double the size under the Amare se-450 compared to the kind. It's not an opinion they suck and it's pretty much facts. Epistar LEDs in a kind housing or epistars LEDS in a 100$ Mars housing is basically the same light.

I set up with ups to inspect the LEDs at kind and just so happens they threw away the boxes I told them to keep. The inspector even said it was strange how 2 lights were damaged exactly the same. So the small % of people that send them back will probably deal with the same thing. It's been weeks and still no money. Most would have given up by now and kind wins twice. Get ur money and your lights back that they will resell on growers house under refurbed for 200 less

seedlin for what your trying to do or grow i should say.. id suggest the mars 192x5 reflectors.. i use them and they just keep on working.. i paid less than 600 for both..
well worth the money IMO. Please dont buy those kinds for that kind of money!!

I use 2 and i also use a 600HPS in the middle a hortilux bulb.. In the summer ill turn it off and just use the LED..
