anyone evry notice that after a while you cant smell it even though its there. wonder if it has the same affect at the neighbors house?

Mine always seem to smell, but starting week 2 of flowering they really start to smell my grow lab up
When does the plant smell disappear and the buds take on their real smell you know like when its ready to hit? Does it smell more distingushed when it cures because mine is in is down now and hope it starts to smell stronger, nicer...it's lemon kush and that usually stinks up a room. Just curious

They can start smelling during veg , some plants ALOT worse than others.
Remmember if you have good air flow and a good CF etc , the smell will not be that bad.
However if your brave enough tho , kill the fan/filter and run about the house with a plant or two , then you will know whats up!

Dude if you live next to the sheriff and he cant determine the smell of "fresh" MJ to "smoked" MJ I think he should get another job. Either that or you are telling fibs. Either way, uncontrolled growing cannabis is very hard to cover up unless you buy filters or other odour controllers. Peace.

Mine started smelling week two 12/12 from seed. Grab a couple odor neutralizers from Wally world for $2.50 a piece and I'm good now. She's about a month and a half from seed and I can't smell her at all

Im in third week of veg and I could smell them around week 2 under under 2 x 1000W MH at 18-6 , I think it depends on the strain because I have 2 Great White and 6 skunk #2/Rocklocks and the GW's are smelling up a storm while the skunks arent so bad yet, a week ago I put my carbon filter on a timer for 15 minutes every hour and it manages the odor really well, I just bumped it up to 30 minutes on the hour tonight.

I start to smell plants strongly at about three weeks into veg. As other have mentioned, odor only grows as you move into flower. There is no way around it, get a carbon filter and fan combo, if you plan to be stealthy. Dont let people talk you into supposed low odor strains, or tell you that one plant wont let everyone in your house know whats going on!

go check out Breeders boutique if you like cheap seeds that are DANK! they give a lot of freebie seeds too but it won't be listed.. usually get like 1 free seed per 1 purchased seed it seems. I highly recommend DOG and psycho killer if you like that ultra potent weed

Depends on the strain.. I have exodus cheese plants that smell after about 2 weeks and other strains ive grown don't really smell until week 3 of flower

i have had a few plants that stink in veg, but its rare
last one NLXBB this one stunk of fuel and catpiss as soon as it got big
with most i find the smell really kicks in at week 4-5
up until weeks 4-5 of flower, i was able to remove the majority of smell with lots of pots of ONA gel and a little bit of ozone
the plants are virtually odorless in the room
but after week 5 i have to use the carbon filter too, and i can still smell them very strongly
only running ozone every 20 mins or so at this stage will remove all the smell in my room
if you want to fully control the smell, you have to fully control the airflow so the only way air can enter and leave you grow area is through filters, it has to be air tight around the plants so to speak
also you need to control humidity as high humidity stops the carbon filter from working as well as it should
i wouldn't recommend ozone unless you are prepared to burn a few plants in the process of learning how to use it safely in your situation

I have one mystery plant, it's definitely indica. It is 2 1/2 weeks old about 8 inches tall (but I tied it down and topped it so its more like 5 inches tall right now. It is quite bushy and it stinks SOOOO bad (GOOD). I have it in a small cab, inside my bedroom closet, with my bedroom window open 24 hours and my bedroom door closed 24 hours. It has not seeped out into the rest of the apartment yet, but I walk into my bedroom and it is a crazy strong smell! I live downtown across the road from a bar and above a store. I am worried my neighbors are going to smell it. It is still about 3 weeks out until I start to flower her. I am going to seal the cab up better and stick a DIY carbon filter in, I hope it helps!!!!

I find it funny people still post in this thread every couple of years, even though it was made in 2007. May as well contribute.
I never notice my plants smelling like anything during veg unless I stick my nose in them, then I get a faint hint of lemon from my larry OGs, Berries from my THC bomb, until I got my northern lights...people say its low odor but I can smell thing little plant from my desk, its only about 9 inches tall too..I love it. So, I guess it's really strain dependent, atleast from my experience.

iv had some strains start to smell 5/6 weeks into veg (afghani). iv smelt some strains that didnt really smell AT ALL 6 weeks into flower (NL). really depends. i will be completely honest about one thing, always do a smell test SOBER and BEFORE smelling any other bag of weed/plant ect as you will not smell faint MJ smells while stoned. also, not trying to disappoint you but i could not for the life of me keep the smell of any skunk/cheese family out of my house regardless of how many virtual sun carbon filters i used, although they helped ALOT. once these girls start respirating water from the heat of the lights they will smell! and its random whiffs too.

Not sure if it's been said yet, but I would invest in a small carbon filter for your grow room. They completely eliminate that dank smell and I hear they can even help your plants grow! Happy growin'
