I use this 32oz-er, $24 @ Amazon, for me its the perfect size as I drink one press every morning. All parts that touch coffee are glass/stainless except the lid strainer (plastic). A 3- or 4-minute press makes purrrfect java.

I'm too addicted to be a total snob but I do appreciate great coffee, like the AK-roasted Resurrection Bay coffees that @AKDrifter mentioned earlier but gotta say that Costco's "Seattle Mountain Blend" is my go-to brew these days. Its a med roast 100% Arabica and checks all the boxes, black or loaded with half n half... yum! Got a press going right now... :weed:

French press coffee is excellent!
Better than a drip coffee maker any day.

They are really handy as well, back in Alaska I had an action packer tote that stayed in truck with basic necessities , me/dog first aid kit, basic survival type gear and some other junk, along with a jetboil, some food, and french press. Nothing better than getting back to the truck cold wet and tired and firing up some fresh hot coffee while you are 30 miles out from nowhere.

Recently found a coffee I really like down here in TX, Independence Coffee CO. Jet fuel . $13 for a 24 oz bag, not too bad. I quit smoking years ago, and rarely hit the coffee shops so I don't mind paying for bean.

I've got a press and mine's still bitter. Maybe it's the grind? How coarse is yours?

I grind fresh right before I pour, probably a medium grind? But my lady grinds finer. Personally I don't really taste a difference between the grinds other than having more sludge, and a stiffer press with the fine. Really, more than the grind courseness making it bitter I'd think it'd be the beans, you might try a different blend, or roast?

My mother brought that coffee maker with her from Cuba over 60yrs ago. I've been using it for years and years, bought a new gasket for it last week. It makes coffee everyday, sometimes twice a day.

That percolator makes the best coffee I've ever had...

That smoking device looks like a glass joint. The two pieces of glass fit each other like a sliding telescope, you can pack a small bowl or fill the whole thing up like a glass joint.

Have a good day! I'm having my café soon :-)
no shame. those are what italians use for coffee/espresso
they arent pretty, they look like shit all the time

I've been drinking coffee for over 50 years. The caffeine never bothered me. Unless I didn't have it. A few years back the wife had to give up caffeine, so I gradually cut it back. The blend we use now is about 80/20. I use 7 or 8 kinds of coffee, mostly dark roasts, an espresso and what ever I see that catches my eye.

But to me the best coffee is always made over a wood fire. My camp coffee is 1/3 espresso, 1/3 Black Silk and 1/3 something I found on sale at Big Lots. For four cups of coffee, boil three cups of water, add four spoons of coffee and let boil one minute. Set off the fire to cool a couple of minutes, then pour the fourth cup of water into the pot to settle the grounds. Works every time.DSCF4079.JPG

This article estimates that 90% of Italian homes have one! My entire childhood that exact coffee maker sat on the stove. I bought a modern stainless steel one, but I still prefer the original aluminum.

At least a cup a day, usually only in the morning tho.
After that, I'm all about these sweet devils. And at 2 for $4, the addiction is real.

French press tastes good but unfiltered coffee is bad for you and raises cholesterol.

Pour over is the way to go. If you brew a pot, 15 minutes later it garbage.
Fresh cup every time and it costs less than $20. Round filters are about a penny each.

Put in enough coffee for one cup. Pour in a small amount of 200 degree water, enough to get the grounds wet. Wait 30 seconds, this is called "the bloom."

Then pour enough water over to fill your cup.

Better than drip and healthier than French press.
