Edit: nvm u meant on alibab.

I have placed an order for 5 of those (min order) and a meanwell driver. $255 plus shipping. Will wait for reply from them. Probably be £200 in total for better equipment so much appreciation for the heads up

Are these individual fan and heatsinks enough to keep cobs cool?
Bonjour
If you want only 4 cxb 3590 it is ok with kb.no need to buy 5!
You gonna need 4 holder for the cxb, unless you plan to solder!?
Why don't you buy a h.s? (45 €)
And if you can wait 2weeks for.the cob it is 10$ shipping with china post option!
As for the driver a hlg is 70 €
Have a great day ★[/QUOTE]

I got 64 plus designed , TDP 100W
The artic 11 GT rev2 design for 75W for comparison
So 64 gt rev 2 must be between 80-110W .

Hello guys, I'm searching for a driver able to drive 2 vero18 + 3 luxeon 660nm (65V) at 700ma with dimming option
so a 45~50W driver @700ma, any ideas ?
I've found this one http://www.mouser.fr/ProductDetail/Mean-Well/PCD-60-700B/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMvV8Y9YugmIguAUY71TS/YqbNBkecjAchclw5YviBbDRw==
not perfect, but it matches ... but its dimming is done by a triac on the AC side, basically like the dimmer on halogen lamps ... seems a bit weird to me, any thoughts ?

I have made a light with 3 x 2540 and HLG-120H-C1400B.
I know now that my choice with driver was wrong cause i can't use it for a max, because 2540 isn't 36v at driver max current. Nevertheless it's working (dimming isn't used) and it's consumption from the wall is near 120W.
So, if i change one of 2540's to 3050, can it help me to reach the max current or it's a waste of money?
I know 3050 operational voltage is lower than 2540's for one volt.

It's designed this way so you don't have to replace already installed dimmers.
thank you for your reply, unfortunately I don't understand what you're saying :eyesmoke:
no dimmers are already installed, the triac (which should be added) take off some power (the absent area on the waveform) from the input of the driver, which results in a decrease of the output power ...

My main concern is the effeciency of the system, I don't remember well how does it work (think its based on a diode bridge), but for me the missing waveform is simply suppressed, so the effeciency may go down while dimming ...
My second concern is to know if a simple triac (230V~ 70-300W), the one on home halogen lamp would do the trick ...

Sorry if I am not very clear, my English is a bit poor ...

I'd choose another driver. Theres no reason to use triac dimmer unless you already have one.

What I meant is that this driver is great for LED fixtures intended to retrofit current incandescent/CFL lights which use triac dimmers - you don't have to change them.

Can I power 2 Vero 29's on the Meanwell HLG-185H-C1050A? I just wanna start with two cobs and have the option to add two more later.

No it just lower efficiency until you get the other 2 cobs
That's an ill advice. HLG-185H-C1050A can work between 95V and 190V while (2) Vero29s @1050mA are no more than 73V. You need at least 3.

Will it work?
2 x CXA 3590 77v and CXA 3070 36v together - in series driven by HLG-185H-C1050A

Yes it should work well.

Not sure what you mean...

This is exactly what i meant. Thanks! I need this info for my 3*cxa2540+hlg120-c1400b. I was misfit in voltage calculation, so it's better to leave dimmer connector open in my case for more current output? Or it's still will be limited due to voltage limit?

Hello,
I hope this is the right topic to ask this question...
I have 9 x Cree CXA 3070 and 3 x Meanwell HLG-185H-C1400A .
What's the maximum number of 3070's to run per HLG-185H-C1400A ? 3 or 4? What would you recommend?
Another thing is... if I use 9 x Cree CXA 3070 what's the distance between them? How big frame for LEDs to make?
Also, one thing I don't understand right now... Does HLG-185H-C1400A has a dimmer? Can I make a separate dimmer?
I hope this is not off-topic. Please, let me know if it is.

BTW Great forum! Great community!

HLG-185H-C1400A can power (3) CXA3070 or (4) CXB3070 and it has an internal pot for dimming. It doesn't support external dimming.
What bin are your CXAs? What is the area you want to cover? What heatsinks are you gonna use?

I have CXA3070. Total number is 9, to be precise. Also, I have 3 units of HLG-185H-C1400A. So, I can power 3 CXA3070s, i guess...
I would like to cover 1 square meter if possible. That's my main problem right now. How to calculate needed number of CXA3070s or any other model of LED chips, according to area I want to cover?
Thanks for reply @alesh
