HELP!!! Greenhouse grow mites are back!!! flower week 4

There is no doubt that you know what your are doing. I wish you the best with the mite issues. Nothing is worst than caring so much for your gals and to be ruin by some pest. Mites are the worst for any cannabis farmers. Keep us inform and I hope to see some monster colas within a month or two.
Thank you. I will definitely keep you posted. I feel that I have been doing well this year, but most definitely not a pro yet. I'm still learning and I'm glad I found this forum to help with my learning process. I went in their today and did some aggressive pruning and took everything that didn't matter from the bottom and the inside of the indicas. I will need an entire day uninterrupted to prune all the sativas, but I had already made a lot of progress on those. I'm about to unleash 4000 ladybugs in there and pray. I really don't want to use any chemicals at this point but I might look into that mitey wash stuff if I can't slow the mites with the removal. I'm staying positive though, and after harvest, I'm going to completely clear out the greenhouse and kill everything, then flush. I would like to put a winter garden in there before next seaseon, but I'm so exhausted, I may just use the winter to focus on other areas of my home.

I just confirmed mites on my outdoor plant as well, Only on one plant thankfully but of coarse its my best one. I read that garlic works great and is lethal to mites and eggs. What I did was peeled a ton of garlic blended it up, boiled it in some water, strained it, added all natural organic dish soap, and mixed it all in a sprayer, sprayed it from the bottom up to hit under sides of leaves....sprayed it 2x today and prepared more spray to hit it again in a few days.
This is my first try, I will let you know how it works in a few days.

Oh definitely do please!!! I am scared to use the dishsoap, but if the garlic solution helps and doesn't make your buds smell or taste garlicky, I will be down to try it.
After aggressively removing a ton of small branches and unnecessary leaf yesterday, my arms are all bit up and super itchy. At least I know I was clearing the right atuff, but for my arms to be this bad, the problem is probably worse than I thought or than it looked

Today I sprayed my 6'x6' bush down with the garlic dishsoap solution and it seems to have killed all the mites, I did a total of about 2-3 gallons after 3x today. It appears all the mites are gone for now, I wont be able to comment on bud taste for a while but will definitely let you know. from what Ive read with other experiences, it doesnt hurt the taste or smell as long as its done a few weeks before harvest. Ive also read people rinse the plants off after. Mine are fully outside and will get rained on so Im sure its all gonna wash away.

Thank you. That's the problem with mine, they are inside a greenhouse, and they are packed in there. If I spray them down too much, I run the risk of getting mold, and I am not sure I want garlic tasting buds. A couple of mine are in FULL flower with huge colas right now.
I did unleash 9000 ladybugs inside the greenhouse tonight and they immediately went to work. I also have 5000 more ladybugs in the fridge to unleash next week when the ladybugs start dying off and getting loose into the yard. I'm hoping that the ladybugs, the aggressive pruning, and my prayers will keep the mites at bay long enough to get to harvest.
Thank you all for your awesome feedback. Even if I was unable to try your methods this time around, it was all extremely helpful information for the next go round.

Yea my problem is on a much smaller scale also, I would prob go with what your doing as well. Small update, all the mites are gone for now, but I think I should have rinsed all the garlic off as it appears to have damages the hairs on the whole plant as well as some leaves. I rinsed it down really well today and I did notice I didnt smell any garlic, only smelled the bud, even putting my nose up to the buds, no garlic smell....not sure if that means no garlic taste. At this point we will have to see if the garlic spray was worth is, looks like it burned some of the leaves and turned alot of hairs red/brown. Here are some pics. Im outdoors at 42 degree N lat so I feel like they should be a bit more developed at this point outside, but you can see the surles tips morning after garlic, purpling around edges of leaves, also seemed to highlight the might damage and make it more noticeable. On positive note, cant find any mites anywhere, so if i ever do use garlic again it will be rinsed off a few mins after applying it. In your case with big plans, thick colas, you prob cant rinse them, and if you do, you risk mold like u said.

Well, it does appear that your solution worked and possibly just burned the plant a little from the moisture being on the plant plus sunlight. It doesn't look too damaged though. It may heal and grow through that. Good to know you got the mites, and definitely a possibility for me to try during veg next season instead of the floramite, which I really didn't want to use at all, but had to do something immediately for fear of losing the whole crop.
I wouldn't dream of using it now though. No way

Hot shot no pest strips on the fans will get rid of them. You need about 5. if you can close the room off to keep the fumes in that would be best. Maybe hang them at night wrap them up for the day and open the greenhouse when its hot. If you do that for two weeks they should be under control at least until harvest. Mighty wash does work but it jacked up my leaves and it's not really cost effective for monster plants without an atomizer. It would cost me $170 to treat my greenhouse with mighty wash and its about your size. You might spend $40 on hotshots.

What is on the pest strips that kills the mites? Will it harm ALL the bugs, because I just unleashed 9000+ ladybugs in there. Also, they won't harm the plant in anyway or cause toxins to see p into the buds? Thank you btw

I just read the thread and was just about to suggest lady bugs. Great idea. Lady bugs will kick their asses. Id put another 1500 in every week until harvest. Good luck i think you got it though.

dichlorvos Its a chemical that permeates the air it will not leave residue on the plants. just remove it two weeks before harvest sunlight will break it down after you remove them. They will kill all bugs. lady bugs don't really eat anything its the larvae that do all the eating. The ladybugs main diet is aphids I think mites would be too small. I've been doing this for 25 years and never heard of anyone taking out mites with ladybugs. Its the ladybug larvae that do most of the eating.

Ive read that the chemicals on those strips are pretty bad, I personally wouldnt use them. Im a big believer in doing things as natural and organic as possible.

I think the key with using the garlic is finding a good concentration and maybe rinsing it off shortly after. The day I sprayed it, the plant looked great all day, woke up to the pics i posted above, rinsed the plant off like crazy (early before direct sun hit the plant). Today I wake up worse damage, looks more burned from the garlic

Here is some research ive found on the topic, most of what I read says its pretty harmful stuff. Do you have any sources saying its safe?

icmag....cant seem to paste here....good discussion some conflicting opinions on no pest strips
icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=122627

Anyways half the links I found are from other forums and cant post them
Google "dichlorvos cannabis" plenty comes up.

One can argue the plants can absorb airborne chemicals thru their stomata on the leaves, no one has really done any tests to say 100% for sure but the warning on the strips is enough to ward me off....wouldnt want to take chances like that, especially since I have a dog in the yard with my plant.

Oh no!!! I'm so sorry about the damage. Possibly the water on the leaf, and the sunlight caused some burning too. Good luck, I hope they recover

Yeah, I have 2 dogs and children. Unfortunately, the greenhouse cannot be completely sealed off, and also I would run the risk of mold if completely sealed off. It looks like the pest strips are not going to be an option for me. At this stage, I have decided not to use anything chemical. I am just going to get in there everyday removing infected leaf, keep the ladybugs going, and hope that I make it to harvest with the problem still under some control.

They have tested it. The marijuana testing lab in my state actually told me they were safe and didn't leave any detectable chemicals in plants. If you don't want to use them that's fine. As long as you're not chewing on them or hanging them in a bed room you'll be fine.

If you are worried about mold you could always run a dehumidifier. What is your current humidity range?

Thats good to know, do you have an article or anything with the test results and all that good stuff? From most of the anecdotal evidence, it seems relatively safe. I would just actually like to read test results. For this particular instance i doubt the strips would be helpfull outdoors anyways. Also having legitimate test results would ease patients worries
