What's more important? Your relationship with society or your relationship with god?

I think taking care of fuck ups on the street is way more important than a relationship with a deity. Don't you agree? What is more altruistic?

This is my first thread in S&S&P, so please, don't be gentle...

I could say yes he is a good person as I have gotten through many fucked things in my life but then I feel like it's all a pinzi scheme. I am kinda on the fence honestly

I'm more curious about you personally. Do you think, personally, that you are a good person?

If so, then what the fuck does what a book written 2,000 years ago have anything to do with how you would base that judgement upon yourself? I mean. You think you're good people. Who the fuck am I to judge that? I mean, yea, you totally kind of suck, but, still, you're not a terrible dude just because of that. Ya know?

I've always wondered this: Which is worse? Not believing in God, or believing in God and deliberately still living a life of sin? I'm in the former camp, for the record.

I have an honest question.

How many religious folk actually live their lives based upon their teachings and how many are hypocrites who preach all they can while keeping their demons secret?

I believe to each their own, but don't you dare preach to me if you can't even live up to your own preaching.

That's sort of my point. Is it more altruistic to worship. Or actually help fellow man?

Look at my first post: What is more important? Your relationship with god or your relationship with society?

I believe it would be to help others as that is a foundation that most religions are based upon.

And then there's the God hates fags types who clearly don't understand even their own religion that is based on kindness and helping others. Well, I think that's what the message was supposed to be until people started killing people for not behaving the way they do or praying to whoever they do.

When did that start again? Oh never mind, I drifted off topic.

Are religious people even happy? Because it sure doesn't seem like it. And they excuse their unhappiness by saying that suffering in this life means that you'll be rewarded in the next life? Nah, I'm good being happy now. I'll deal with the next life when I get there, lol.

When exactly was it when religious people weren't killing people for not behaving a certain way? I clearly missed that part of history class.

I think I am a good person I try not to be mean and be civil I try and help anyone. I help people that have done me wrong. I have a soft heart for others. For example when I meet my ex to get my kid there is a guy that is always bumming and I finally told him to get his ass on. Well just the other day the same dude seen me at taco bell and came up again and he said he was hungry and needed to feed his kid so I took him to bilo spent 107 dollars took him to his trailer with the groceries I bought I him.

And that's not enough to get you into heaven? The game seems rigged to me.
