So much BS.... It is what it is though. I have so much stuff going on, I'm just going to start adding people to my ignore list. Let's see if I can't get it to 100 idiots before new year... I'm up to 2 idiots now. 98 to go.

For those that can and want to DIY, I totally recommend that's what they do. For those on a budget, there's nothing wrong with HID. It's cheap. A 600w HPS and a 10'000btu AC (overkill, but still) will be cheap. I have a Frigidaire 10'000btu, I paid like $250 for it, brand new at Walmart, free shipping. I also bought another 15'000btu AC for $325, free shipping.
I'm sickened by all the BS, but that's the forums on the internet, always some shit like that happening.
I'm excited about this product.
Could I DIY something with great components for cheaper?
Sure. Would it be precision-engineered? Uh, no. And I'd probably be sick of it by the time I finished. I'd rather buy something good, even if it doesn't have the latest-generation doohickey in it, these lights look great.

The up-front price is fine, the efficiency provides savings over time, and LEDs live a long time, if you keep them around they constantly become cheaper the more you use them, how does this escape your notice? Honestly, why are you looking at LED lights? I have the cheapest electricity in the country but I'm excited about the coverage vs cost per hour. Your value equation doesn't seem to include the electric cost over time.

I'm going to buy a few of these.
If I wanted to upgrade a couple of SGS-160's is it possible to say what kind of difference I should see from the upgrade?
From a few weeks ago:
In terms of lumens, which is fine cause these are identical spectrums, here's the comparison:

The current RW150 uses 36x XTE R5 @ 750mA and 36x XPE1 P3 @ 650mA.

36 x 3.22v x 750mA = 86.94w @ 124 lumens per watt = 10780.5 white lumens.
36 x 2.265v x 650mA = 53w @ 88.55 lumens per watt = 4693 red lumens.
Total = 15473 lumens from 140w to the LEDs.

The upgraded version would be as follows:

36 x 3.2v x 700mA = 80.64w @ 159.8 lumens per watt = 12886.3 white lumens
36 x 2.44v x 700mA = 61.49w @ 90.8 lumens per watt = 5583.3 red lumens
Total = 18469.6 lumens from 142w to the LEDs.

It's about an 18.5% increase in efficiency.
The RW is about 10% better than the SGS. So, the upgrade kits will be significantly better than the SGS.

For 300-500$ your clearly talking about a Gavita'ish type commercial fixture. All the stuff I have been browsing as Top of the line and air coolable is closer to $800-$1K once all pieced together
You are over paying by a lot , use this website www.hydrobuilder.com they have good systems for sale for HID

I love how these people act like HID lights cost so much more in electric. To recoup the amount of upfront costs you need to put down to cover any legitimate growing area will out weigh the electric difference, you will literally need to run for decades. Not to mention new LEDs come out every year and they aren't like HID you cant just change the bulb you need to replace the entire fixture , just not worth the investment anymore to me. LEDs are for hobbyists and small or micro grows.

I thank you for the simplicity of that answer. I think I may keep one or two for veg and upgrade 2 for flowering stage. I'm still shooting for my first attempt.

~ "LEDs are for hobbyists and small or micro grows."
Yeah, there are different use cases, for sure.
~ "just not worth the investment anymore to me."
Seems legit

"These people" ? ~ "any legitimate growing area" ?

I'm new to LED's and just purchased two units of the RW-150's. Will this be sufficient to cover a 4x4 area, or is 4 units a better option with everything else being equal? Thanks!

There are people that used 2 of the 150s, and the previous 160s in a 4x4 before. It can be done, but at times 2 leaves more to be desired. 4 is what most people have.

Does anyone here have or had a Neapolitan Mastiff dog? I'm looking to get one. They get to be over 150LBS.

I totally want one, but do please leave the damn ears on it, if you get one. Very nice picture, though.
We currently have a dane/mastiff aka Gladiator, and she's a cupcake, love that damn dog.

I could never crop their ears, I think that is unnecessary and mean. How much does yours eat? How much does she weigh? I can imagine it's not cheap to feed them.

I have 3 dogs now, they're 8 months old and about 50LBS each. They collectively eat 40LBS of food every week.

I'm not sure what kind of dog I want, I do want a 4th though. A big one, a boy, I need to balance the male:female ratio around here, I'm outnumbered. Bitches be crazy.

Right now I am leaning towards the Neo Mastiff.

We used to have two gladiators and a border collie, those were expensive years. They don't quite eat 20lb a week per unit. Our remaining girl weighs about 137lb. We feed some kibble with goat milk in the morning and a whole can of Merrick wet food plus a fair bit of kibble in the evening.

I try not to think about what it costs. Neos are freaking awesome, I commend your taste.

Previously we had a Newfoundland, he ate half as much as the Gladiators. I think I will get a Landseer Newfie when Jenny kicks the bucket. Here she is in her morning splendor.

Is that with or without the 15 lbs of drool?

I would totally adopt that dog. He just won the world's ugliest dog contest.
Or something like this little cutie.
I'm getting the one with the 12LB drool option. 15LB costs too much.

Soon as my paint comes in, I'll update the pictures. I had to use what I had for the 1st one, it's the same paint as the RW. The reflector will be titanium white, and the body will be maroon colored.

Thanks bongsmilie

They're 90°

The bottom of the reflector is a little wider than the COB itself, if you notice that lip on the bottom. I only want to catch the stray beams, not correct the entire thing. Only about 10% of the beam is corrected. So if the titanium white absorbs 10% of the light, it's 10% of 10%, meaning 99% of the beam is unobstructed.

Here's the connectors. @captainmorgan been asking about these. Here you go.
