I'm looking to grow NL on my next grow. Can anyone recommend a good breeder for this strain. I'm looking to run fem seeds.

All the best sources are regular seeds. I recommend PeakseedsBC but there are other potential options out there - none with the same price though.
That's exactly what i found out on my search for fem NL seeds. In the end i decided to go with a NL cross (Pyramid Seeds Anestesia, NL x Black Domina).
I've grown a NL5 from Bodhi once and it was very leafy. Could have been my fault but apparently NL can be leafy.

I had issues with Sensi Seed's NL fems. Six for six popped through and died within days.

lil roach i have had the same problem when i spent the money on sensi seeds. popped like any other seed then tap root curled in circles like a pig tail, cotyledon popped out then 2 days later they all died. bought my seeds about a year ago biggest waste of $75.
thought for sure spending the money on good genetics was the way to go but don't be fooled with these big name companies. the most fire green i have grown was humboldt seeds and barney farms. take it for what its worth.

I see two posters who tried to run NL from Sensi and all the seeds popped but then died soon after. I had th same experience with ten NL seeds that I got from Seedsman, but that might've been my own fault.

Did you post any pictures in the Bodhi thread on those NL?

Kinda wanna pick up that classic strain and give it a go. I will say I'm not a fan of leafy strains as I'm lazy and prefer not to have to trim off a shit ton of leaves. How was the final product?

I don't think i have any pictures of this plant. I've topped it to get 2 main branches and it was a healthy plant which yielded about 2 ounces. about 5 weeks into flower the buds grew lots of new little leaves and i got this problem i've had with other plants before and since, the buds are quite dense and then lose some of this density and become a bit fluffy. The end product was almost impossible to trim, the whole bud appeared to consist of little leaves. The smoke was nothing special really. It looked similar to a Nirvana Swiss Cheese a friend of mine grew, huge buds but not very dense, lots of little leaves.
I will give the NL5xBCSC NL5 another go just to find out if it was me or the strain. I've made a mistake with the nutes and gave it lots of N in flower which could lead to leafy buds. The grow itself wasn't a masterpiece but the Dank Sinatras i grew with the NL came out nice. Ah that reminds me, i could get a few DS into the next grow.
Oh and no, i haven't looked into the Bodhi thread recently. It pops up in every search you do on any bodhi strains but there's not a lot of concrete info. Also lots of bitchin around. I was about to open another bodhi thread for strain info you can find without browsing 200 pages.
I was really unlucky on my last bodhi attempt. 6 out of 10 turned out to be male. Both Gojis, both Jabbas, both SSDD.

Breedbay is better with regards to info as well as attitude over there. While I love our bodhi thread here, information is buried and there are a lot of tangents. No disagreement there.

Good to know and thanks for your honesty. I'd rather get something else than something meh.

I've had the same problem with my ancient OG. Nothing but males which makes me sad as they are beautiful plants but I'm not looking for males, I want the ladies! Just the way she goes.

Well, i was lucky before where i had 8 out of 10 females from different bodhi packs. At the end of the day i think it is pretty much 50/50 on average. My friend just pulled 13 out of 15 females from a pack of Mr Nice Shit.

I was really excited about the NL5 when they were available on the tude so i got 2 packs. Another reason why i want to try them again. As far as i know it was an open pollination so there could be a treasure in there after all.

I got a NL cross from DnS Genetics. It is a cross of NL and Grand Daddy Purp. It is a bit leafy but most of the the leaves except for the very big fan leaves were covered in trichomes. Makes some great ISO hash. The bud itself was really freaking good and leaned to the NL side much more than the GDP. It takes a good 10 weeks and the yeild is average but the high, smell, and taste is first class. The company DnS Genetics is hard to figure out. They are based in the US and ship in the US so you dont have to worry about boarder patrol looking through your shit. There is a thread on here about them, I think is is called "Buy American" or something like that. I ordered 5 feminized seeds from them and they sent me a shit ton of freebees. Some of them are better than others but their hi ho silvers strain (NLXGDP) is one of the strains of theirs that I liked a lot and will grow again. Good Luck on finding some good NL.

Mr Nice Ortega is a really good representation of old school northern lights but you have to be real careful from week 4 of flowering as some do hermie with a slight change in conditions. Shanti has noted this on his forums a few times. The plants are very nice though.
The other one that is as close to old school is british columbia seed bank however, I've heard recent reports of germ issues due to being old stock! Peak Seeds is the way to go if you want an easy to grow version that is still extremely close to the old stuff :)

northern lights can be leafy, you might be better off going for northern lights crossed with skunk or something like that
it will give you less leafy buds , i always liked the NL crosses better than straight NL

peace
Any recommendations. I want something with a heavy indica stone

Northern lights x skunk by Peak Seeds is very indica dom and has a knock out stone, NL x skunk from Mr Nice is good too. NL x blueberry from Peak is pretty good too come to think of it :)

^^ eastcoastmo how is the stone of the Peak NL? I ordered a pack and assume very sedative or even ko type but am hoping for a more balanced effect.
