Hey guys, OK need some help! Got some feminized seeds had them in 18/6 for around a month or so and they are showing heavy signs of pre flowering not just a few single pistils but a abundence of them in little clumps on the tips and yes to state the obvious they are NOT auto flowerers also lighting cycle has not been changed from 18/6 using MH lights. Are they flowering? Should i change to 12/12? Or is this normal for feminized seeds?. Someone please help???? Thanks in advance
Steps I would take because plants are ready to flower. If the plant wasn't ready to flower it would not have pistils. Vegetable stage is when plants branching grows evenly. When plants branching start to alternate with no pistils plants are in Pre/flowering stage. When the branches are alternating with pistils the Pre/Flowering stage is complete. This is not a auto flowering plant It's just ready to flower, Indicas can grow little as 6 inches to 4 feet. "Real Indicas"

1. Switch lights to 12/12 if there Indica, Indica dominate. If there Sativa or Sativa dominate use 11/13, 13 Hrs. of darkness.

2. Plants will keep growing in Flowering Stage 1 for the 2 to 3 weeks depending on strain. So use MH light and growing nutrients until plant stops growing. usually 2 to 3 weeks or early flowering stage. This will keep the plant from stretching.

3. After plants stops growing and starts flowering heavily switch to HPS Light and use flowering nutrients. If You can you will have a healthier, Bigger Yield, Taste, Aroma if done organic with a mixture of MH and HPS lights use together.

Plants Life Cycle

Germination Stage 1, No light darkness. Keep Moist. Using paper towels method works but you get more males, Just put the seed in Fox Farm or 420 Soil, keep moist. You will notice more female plants.

Germination Stage 2, 16 hrs of light, Seeds crack open. If seeds do not crack open with 75F, seeds are no good. Usually 5-7 days for a seedling to start.

Seedling Stage 16 hrs of light 2-4 weeks, when round leaves die off seedling stage is complete.

Vegetable stage, 18 to 20 hrs of light. This stage is skip when growing Sativa indoor. In Vegetable stage plants branching will grow evenly.
,
Pre/Flowering, Branches will alternate grow. Pre/Flowering stage is complete when Pistils start to show as little as a "V" coming out of second node from top of plant. You can induce Pre/Flowering with 12/12 or when plants ready it will do it naturally.

Flowering Stage 1, Indicas 12/12 and Sativa s 11/13 Lights, Plant will grow for another 2 to 3 weeks depending on strain, Keep using MH and growing nutrients.

Flowering Stage 2, Plants will have heavy flower production. Indicas 12/12 and Sativas 11/13, Switch to HPS bulb in Flowering Stage 2 to keep the plants from stretching. Use Flowering Nutrients.

Flowering Stage 3, Plants will have heavy Flowering production and pistils will start to turn color.

Flowering Stage 4, Flush plants for 1 to 3 weeks. Depending on grower. No Nutrients.

I Would flip to 12/12, they will grow real fast for 2-3 weeks, If they get to big you always can tie the branches so they get the most light. I tie my plants in a "S" shape when there 2 weeks into flowering and cut the bottom branches off. I keep my short indoor so I can keep the light closer. If done right 3 to 3.5 ounces a plant.

No net, I made some cages so I can move the plants around and keep the grow room clean. I will post a photo of the homemade cage it support the plant so much. Instead of topping the plants I bend them in "S" shape then the middle branches and big top cola get more light. But yes same idea. I place the cage in the container and man does it help keep the grow room clean.

H.P.S. can be used through out the plants life cycle. Stem's may stretch a little.

Germination /Clones/Seedlings/ Red light H.P.S.
Vegetable/Pre/Flowering Stage Stage/ Blue light M.H.
Flowering Mid and late stage Red light, H.P.S keeps plants from stretching.

Or Best spectrum
Vegetable Two blues to one red
Flowering Two Reds to one blue

Do you reckon that for the first week or so keep the mh bulb in on 12/12or move straight to HPS ?

Yup use MH for the first 2-3 weeks of flowering, Then switch to HPS. Iv seen great results. Keeps the plants more compact and larger yield. .

Yes this is correct ......I use the mh for all my veg then switch to the duel spec for flower that way I'm getting the best of both worlds....
