Why not ReptiSun 10.0 UVB flourescent? They come in compact CFL, CFL, T5HO and T8. California Lightworks uses the T5HO on their LED fixtures. Lighthouse Hydro uses the CFL on their Chrome fixture.
That is what I use, and while I don't have anything to gauge it against, the potency and bouquet of my herb always impresses my guests no matter the strain

Well i want to know how long do leds last?
Short answer, no one truly knows because they haven't been around long enough. 50,000 hours is the number some group pulled out of their ass but what you need to find out is the lumen maintenance or lumen deprecation value which tell you how long they maintain their output as if new. There is no simple answer here but it seems to be 1 1/2 to 2 years before you end up buying something new that crushes your last light :).
Or are they replaceble and...
Yes and no. Some designs are near impossible, others are modular and are pretty easy to fix. DIY is champ here.
....whats the highest lamp u could buy?
Well technically you can build as big as you want with as much draw as your grow room can handle but for a pre-built consumer rig the ApacheTech 600 is basically a 1000 watt HPS drop in replacement and one big mother. Draws around 700 watts but I believe it's draw is adjustable.

Hey, I'm looking to buy an led set up for my dr90 SJ tent, I plan on just doing a sog, I haven't grown in about a year due to living situations. But I plan on hooking it all up again and found led lights to be the most cost efficient and most inconspicuous way of growing.
Now.
I am confused as to which light I should be looking for cause there is so much confusion from manufacturer to manufacturer.
Have been looking at diamond series & solar storm. But I'm always open to new suggestions.
If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it very much!
Thank you

What I don't really understand when people recommend the RW75, is why for virtually the same money, they seem to show less confidence in (or love for) the XGS 100 from A51. As a newer fixture, can we not assume that it's warm white XTE diodes are an improvement on the reds and cool whites of the older RW model? Or is it purely a question of slightly higher wattage/consumption that turns users off (equal draw in veg mode and 22.5W more in flowering mode according to the site)? As a noob', my instinct would probably be to go with the most recent product in a given line-up, especially at virtually the same price point. Is that wrong?

I have an XGS-190 (and RW-75 and 150). The W100 is a 100w version of the 190.

I've only used the XGS and RW in 1.5 grows. They seem equally good. But, the XGS uses 40 watts more to do it. @BadKarma has mentioned the same thing, probably from more grows.

I'm not clear why the XGS (and now the W) model exists. My impression: all-white became the "thing." A51 produced one as an alternative to Apache, etc. It seems like the RW is better (unless you like the visual appearance of all white). Maybe I'm wrong.

4 X 80 watt HANS get my vote for plants under 30".
Perfect for SOG.

I use A51 SGS-160, RW-150 and HANS.

so your suggesting not to get the rw's?
No, the A51s are great, but they are back ordered at the moment.
You will get great results from either.
It's just personal preference. I think it just comes down to growing "style", I see more vigorous growth with the lamps that have less white.
Another option would be the newest Kessil H380. You would need 4 @ $300 each though. (I'll be getting some of those next week)

Okay, so I'm no noob, either in a growroom or here at RIU. I've spent the last couple of years developing a vertical growing system using 2 HPS thouies as lighting for the inside of a cylinder that's just over six feet tall by five feet in diameter. That's right at one hundred square feet... and yes, it produces.

I want to light the same cylinder I just described above with LED, and it needs to be better than merely 'HPS equivalent'. I'm after current state of the art... and just to throw a monkey wrench in for fun, fully wettable lighting would be ideal, though I suppose not required.

Anyone who says money is no object will soon be parted from his money, so I'm also after an education about what the options are, what they cost- and what I get for the cost.

Who's got some ideas?

Something like this for starters...except with the newer cobs. Could probably get by with cpu coolers and a suitable frame for them.

Waterproof? Keep everything concealed in the middle with optics over the cobs
