Just wanted to add that I have been using the 36V cxa3590 BD bin and it would be my choice. The only real problem I had was find the driver as it uses more current than the cxa3070.

I dont know if its the greater surface area of the cob or what but it seems to be able to luminate the canopy better.

Is this for veg or flower, sorry late to the party. I'm trying to figure coverage per cob for lettuce so less than flower, not sure if veg is same or still more than needed

I just posted in the ...all things vero... thread about the new Mean Well NPF drivers, they offer higher amperage which would be good for the vero29 and cxa3590

Cool, and then fill up the rest of the voltage (6V) with single leds. 2.1A gives 2 'strings' of 1050mA (parallel), or 3 'strings' of 700mA. It's a great tip from GreenGenes somewhere with the cxa3070, here it makes even more sense :)

The NPF-120-42 would be good for running a single Vero29 hard (2.9A), maximum vF of 42 but it seems to be more rare, no price that I can find.

NPF-90-42 would do the job at 2.1A and cost ~$42.
LPF-90-42 is good for 2.15A $45

For flowering, I use the z2 3000K at 15cm per square foot running at 700ma (can go up to 900ma at same distance) and z4 5000k running at 350ma at 15-20cm for veg. In the flower room I am also testing the ca3590 bd 3000k chip running at 1000ma.

VERO29
Meanwell tell "on the market" on 12/2014...
I'm waiting, in the new project can mount 90,120,185 and many other meanwell,
I want to see in real, in 120 watt configuration if it's possible to stay permanent in low temp...

Lookin frosty and chunky BT!

Just finished a driver board with the last of the 1.4A drivers for one of our good RIU friends. First time using the Wago 5s ($0.55), a good time saver I am a convert :) Found some low profile blue boxes ($1.20) and plastic blank covers ($0.62) at Home Depot. The fan adapter will plug into the green outlet

Home Depot is selling 3 packs of extension cords in the Christmas section for $3. A nice discount from Walmart's $1.37 ea. Very handy for DIY builds and the copper does not seem to be poor quality.

Got some Veros to experiment on. Vero 29 3000K 80 CRI and Vero 10 2700K 80 CRi for home lighting. The color of the phosphor on the Vero 29 is a paler yellow than the CXA3070 3000K 80 CRi. The CXA matches the color of the Vero 10 2700K though. I doubt that means anything but it is interesting.

Hooked up the Vero10 2700K running at 150mA, definitely makes a great color for living room. Would be fine at 270mA for those that prefer it a bit brighter. It is about 40% efficient (typical) or 125lm/W. Should be about 475 lumens. With driver losses it is about 110lm/W. Parts cost ~$8.

The PICO EZ Mate was very convenient, although it seems very delicate. I got the 18awg but it starts out as 28awg and after about 1.5 inch it connects with an 18 awg. Also adds a lot of percentage to the cost of a Vero 10 (33%), a major increase if you scale it up.

Saw these COB lights at Home Depot. 3000K 600lumens recessed gimbal LED for $42 and it is only 52lm/W according to the box (they are including driver losses).

hi all,
been reading this awesome 100 page thread on the cxa3070 that everyone has been raving about. finally just got all the gear in hand and the fun begins. bought all this stuff from taobao.com for 145$ usd. the cobs and drivers should be legit, the heatsync is some no-namer china stuff, but seems to be acceptable aluminum extrusion manufacturing.

2x - cree cxa3070
2x - MW LPC 60-1400
2x - 120mm fans
1x - aluminum heatsync 600x120x50mm (LxWxH)

@SupraSPL any way to tell exactly what bin and cob this is?
