How do you pay for your MMJ?

Perhaps you might change your opinion once you've done a detailed cost analysis.
Total cost to produce is $1-$2/g in the MMPR.
Can't nail the exact cost because of variables...location, strain, etc...but I think every LP is in that range.
you are sadly mistaken but Ill leave it at that.

Not necessarily true. As much as I hate the MMPR system the heating, air conditioning, labour and employee costs can't be compared to home growing. I know someone who was running his license in a green house which was heated with water. $2000 per month for heating bills (I could post a gmap link and the place has bee sold but probably still not a good idea). This was a 60x60 or so greenhouse on a concrete slab.

When I first grew i spent 125 on a complete HPS. 75 on inline fan. 30 on bale of promix. 50 on nutes.
Had old 2x4s and sheet rock for my room. Also had old gardening pots laying around to use.
We'll just say I spent 400 to be safe to cover electricty.
Ended up with around an HP which isn't even that good for a 400 watt.
HP of meds is around 1500$.
I'd say it was worth 400$ and 30 minutes to and hour a day max.

Sorry canna I disagree in a sixty by sixty greenhouse you could be producing say around what 500 to a 1000lbs a harvest so u sell a pound for say $1000 dollars that means one harvest at $1,000 a lb would make that green house $500,000 to a million each harvest. That's at 500 grams a square meter of space which is on the low side for master growers like LP's

Fuck i forgot the lol more like master baters lol. Oh ya you can run approx. three crops a year so they would make$ 1,500,000 to $3,000,000 a year and this is at $1000 a pound compassionate price who knew????come on people greed is fucked. Don't let these asshole greedy corporate type take advantage of the sick

Since we're having the conversation, let's look at some numbers. I spent an hour putting together a rough scenario for a personal/basement op. Used known costs vegging with LED and Flowering with CMH (what I use), adjust per your tech/known yields etc (assuming commercial strains @ 4 oz/plant, 8 week veg/8 week flower). Rough numbers thrown in for some operational costs like nutes and the like, those could easily be much lower. Tried to account for everything if you were buying retail for a small op except the labour to build the room and operate it. Interesting numbers if you insert even just rent/insurance @ $1,200/month it shoots the numbers up to around $3/gram cost, add labour in there and it'll probably be $4-$5/gram + depending on the op method. Add significantly higher costs in for building an MPPR op (capital), even if you shave operational costs, depreciation or a capital replacement fund would be much higher.

Don't trash/argue it based on the numbers I input, the jist of this spreadsheet is to capture the capital and operational costs involved, adjust to your liking and come up with your own costs.

Tear it apart, adjust for your scenarios and re-post for discussion purposes. Apologies if you can't open it, had to .zip it to upload:

You're not factoring in anything else into the equation. Do I think weed should be cheap, hell yah. Do I think LP's prices should be way lower, of course but I have no illusion as to what a LP is, its a business the the main goal of any business is to make money and not be a charity case.

GroErr you are right but we are talking 1000 and thousands of pounds not 10 to 20 pounds that's were the savings come in to play and they could easily sell for a $ 1000 a lb and make a killing that's $62.50 an ounce think about the larger picture tweeds warehouse is what 500,000 square foot so at low end 500 grams per square meter on say half of there warehouse so 250,000sqf of grow space so he should be able to produce around 90,000 lbs so that at $1000 a lbs is $90,000,000 keep in mind you can do this three times a year!!!!! Greed

Sorry cann not cheap but affordable after all we are talking about a medicine I will and other patients will have to use the rest of our lives!! And what is cheap about $90,000,000 not the patients fault these assholes miss manage there companies. I went off of low end numbers too so???? How can't they pay there bills at a compassionate price of $1000 a lbs and put there full grow spaces to good use and actually help patients???? I have a bong full of organic rockstar to hit

The thing is they can't grow that much. You are giving out numbers that would come from full production of the facility with 100's of workers. As it is atm these places have no clue how to grow and each crop is a hit and miss. They only have so much capitol available to them to only run fractions of the the facilities square footage.

Also think about what would happen if they sold at $3 per gram for Medical grade, it would kill the governments idea of raping in taxes from legal weed if its sold through retail/liquir stores. People would be like if medical weed is $3 per gram why the fuck are we paying that much for consumer grade weed.

you know that's fucked up the way you put it, no comparison from patient to rec user, besides the govt shouldn't charge taxes on medicine to begin with. yes contrary to HC it is medicine. ya know your wrong, just too bad you can't admit it

The gov has already stated that to them you don't have a right to affordable medicine, you have a right to reasonable access which was forced onto the gov by the courts
If you need affordable meds for the rest of your life you're only option is to grow yourself or hope someone would be willing to sell you oz's for say $100-130 per oz.

Very quite on the LP front.... I wonder if this is the calm before the name calling and telling us patients we are cheep and want our meds for nothing. Oh ya and it is a business you know! Well I showed you exactly how the numbers work out on the low end. So please I'm in a debating mood today must be this rockstar fucking unreal tasty shit.

There is no reasonable access if the majority of the patients are on limited income and can not afford there meds. Right there alone is violating the reasonable access order by the courts. How is there-reasonable access if only the rich can afford medication??? Hints no reasonable access!!!!!

Quit comparing a medical market in Canada to legal rec market in Washington and Colorado. No comparison
