Politics Growers Thread

And if those people discuss their grows, they're fucking retarded.

All HPS growers can scale up their grows, it's pretty simple.

I don't need 50 lids a grow tho, laundering that much cash would take the fun out of growing for me and it'd turn it into a greasy game of fight the paranoia, IMO.
meh, i'd be able to do it, easy:wink:

tell me more about how LG is a POS brand.

You are choosing to support slave labor for the Koreans over giving it to hard working black Americans that work at US companies, Racist? I think so.

Also, you said earlier that a window AC unit would heat up your air?
I'M no expert, but I pretty sure window AC units actually cool the air.

Hey, far be it from me to tell you how to spend your money, but I think once you actually get to growing you will find that the temperatures are pretty easy to manage once you have it insulated. Just because the outside gets to 7 below zero doesn't mean that an insulated room with 3,000 watts of power in it isn't going to hold most of that heat for the 12 hours lights are off and get to 7 below zero too. Won't happen unless you fuck up and never turn the lights on for a few days.

The only way an insulated room with that much lighting is going to get cold is if you open the garage and leave the lights off for several days.

Also you said that with a window AC you would be exhausting stinky air.
No, window AC 's do not pull air from inside the room to the outside, They pull inside air through the evaporator coils and exhaust the cooled air back into the room by use of a blower. A separate fan on the outside blows ambient air through the condenser coils. Its a closed system with ehaust and intake completely separated by a partition made of insulating material.

Amen brother

For me its just a hobby to help me deal with pain and for a couple of close friends ( none of them know I grow).

You start making some serious money and people are going to want a cut.

It'd be super easy, especially with my new work I've found in the last few years.

I enjoy growing and I've found that when I enjoyed other stuff and made a full on business out of it, it completely destroyed the fun aspect.

@Doer: This is a grow thread so it makes sense to talk sense.

There's enough trollportunities in this section as it is without bringing that other crap in here.

And remember kids, smoke weed everyday.

They are all the same. A heat pump has a reversor valve that allows the unit to both heat and cool but your basic window air conditioner unit is a ductless airconditioner. The term mini-split simply means they are taking a window unit (splitting the condensor from the evaporator) and putting one inside through a small pipe for the coolant lines rather than having it sit in the window.

Pretty much

My main question is: Why the fuck would you put it in the garage in the first place? A basement provides better temp regulation, better physical security, more convenience when its 7 below zero/100 above outside and more legal protection from police intrusion too.

The Garage should be used to protect those $40,000 trucks and cars that people seem to buy these days. Just leaving your second biggest life purchase to rot outside seems dumb. I see most people store their worthless junk in the garage and then park their super expensive Tundra on the street.
I laugh, because my 33 year old vehicle looks darn near new because it spends its non running time inside out of the harmful rays of the sun and the elements of mother nature. I think its actually worth more today than the day I bought it new. I paid $16,000 for it in 82 and now I could probably get $30k for it in Cali or Colorado or Oregon.

you should stand behind the window AC unit that i currently have cooling off my grow and tell me all about how non-stinky it is, especially near harvest time.

plus, no way to make that think heat the air to the grow room, only cool it.

a mini split is a bit of an investment but a wise one for a grower.

I already posted the weather for Denver and Boulder, the mean temps NEVER drop below freezing for any month of the year.
we have had high temperatures that stayed in the negatives before. all it takes is a good run of days like that and my crop would be dead.

hence why i am going fully insulated with a dedicated heater/AC for precise temp control.

the crops always turn out better when you get to decide the exact temps they enjoy during both the day AND the night.
