Oh I know. All that takes time. My yield curve in that little space is just fine for me. :) It is also been rinsed of all hassle.

I don't think I want to stop them from stretching. And I don't know of a way to do that.

I get Ozzies per month so I am a Purist, right?

the purists will say "no" to the stretch..mainly because of management and popcorns at the bottom..they are vine-like and LST actually takes the plants chemical (forgot the name) that's responsible for main cola and disburses it to the other branches which in turn cause them to "turn into" main colas..therefore, you have multiple main colas off one plant..additionally, keeping them shorter and putting netting on keeps the fans below and allow more colas to form..popcorns to fatten as the plant really is growing sideways..although it doesn't look it..keeps the grow closer to a SOG which is desirable.
apical dominance is when the main branches sends suppressive hormones down to the lower or axillary shoots which stops them from growing rapidly. The hormone is called auxin

Auxins are a class of plant hormones as are Gibberellins. They tend to work in pairs, promote/inhibit. If not given something to turn off inhibit, for example, and just given a promoter, the plant will just make more inhibit, to counteract your attempt to promote.

It is somewhat complicated but I have used flower hardeners to make really dense buds.

In fact there are 5 main classes of hormones and all sorts other know plant regulators.

Dropping the light stops stretch.

That is not my experience.

These last 2 pairs were a good example. And this is my consistent experience. So, I am sure dropping the light creates More Stretch.

The 2 in front had the light down since they were shortish about 26 inches and didn't stretch much so I brought the light down to them

The ones just placed in the back, were under the LOWERED light. They bombed up into the light hood and I've raised it 2 times to keep from burning them.

Lots of myth and lore, we have to do our own experiments to know what is real about it. :)

I just realized the differnce. Just took a few sips of coffee. :)

There are two kinds of stretch. Veg and Bloom. (ahhh)

Veg stretch, we do not want. We bring down the light to keep those seeding and young rooters from wasting themselves trying to get big light. OTH, if the light is too close they suffer.

Bloom stretch, we DO want and can't stop them, iac. Bloom stretch is where they get ready to....wait for it........BLOOM! She makes room for the bloom.. :)

i wasn't being critical..it's been my experience that the MEN opt for 18"-24" (which is what i do too based upon everything i've read from the "master growers" here)..case in point is wormie's pic above..see how nice, tight and level canopy is? in the end though, bud is bud and it all smokes..just one scientists opinion.

flipped! and it won't be long now since they've been cut back with light and have pre-flowers..these girls have been waiting to bust loose!!

i added a 12" Phresh filter, Ona bucket with Ona Breeze fan, 2nd Vornado floor fan (thank you, doer!)..also got the FF GB Hydro version with plants responded to in erect fashion..so it DOES pay to use "hydro" version of nutes IMO.

shout out goes to "advanced hydro gardens" in hialeah (easy to get to off palmetto) for hooking me up with the new filter, gro slabs/leach trays and NOT sending the police..awesome prices..the dude is cool..gave me sample hydro nutes and will match price on most anything..well stocked shop opens up to massive bay..i couldn't get him to match the FF GB Hydro @ $19 delivered though..cash only, please.
