Is G13 C99 a real C99?

Just wondering if it's a real C99 or at least a cross with the Brothers Grimm's stuff and if it's worth it.
Strain description says it's Grapefruit x Pineapple but isn't the original C99 a backcrossed Jack Herer pheno? Anyone grew it?

There is a search button on google that will give you good results.

Also I have no clue wether it is the real deal C99 but the 5 pack I grew were delicious.

They mean it is a combination of female grapefruit and pineapple phenotypes of c99.

I just put one into flower a few days ago. It was a freebie from last March promo.
I am very skeptical though. I have never seen anything from G13 Labs worth a shit.
Not saying they don't have anything worth a shit, but I havent seen it.\
Their Chocolate Heaven that was a freebie might be the 2nd worst plant I have ever seen, just behind Tangerine Dream from BF.

I've searched here on the forum but the results were not really what was looking for.

How did the 5 turn out? different phenos or more uniform?

So do you think it is likely to be bred from the original?

I keep reading bad things about G13 Labs. I've only tried Hypnotic and Pineapple Express. Hypnotic was great. Beautyful small plant with rock hard golfball nugs, a nice smoke. With Pinex i had a very good experience, too but i may have been lucky. The opinions really go into opposite directions. People either love or hate it.

when tude first release a couple years ago I stocked up on the seeds because of the promo deal. grew out 5 plants and I have to say it's not consistent. looking over my notes...

briefly, plant 1 was tall and pine smelling, plant 2 was tall and grapefruit smelling, plant 3 was short with no distinct smell plant 4 was short orangey smelling, plant 5 was short and grapefruit smelling.

there was a floating theory going around that time. that g13 got their c99 from playing with mosca seeds c99 back cross. idk

G13 labs are a relabeling company, label it whatever they think will sell.

Female seeds C99 is as good a C99 your ever going to get , unless some old skooler is sitting on some f1-2s from bros grim their working into F3/4/5-IBL O wait thats Mosca seeds.

Seedbay quite often have some F3+ listed.

I am a bit suspicious as well. I have grown a lot of the mosca version in the past and I had a g13 version that I got as a freebee that is about three weeks in veg. It looks nothing like the mosca version. Mine has big fat maple leafs and looks rather indica leaning. I guess I will know for sure when I flower it.

Go with Female Seeds C99.I've grown both Grimm Bros. and Female's version.Out of two phenos I got from Female 1 was pretty close to GB's.

i grew it, wasn't that bad, more Indica than Sativa but that could of been the properties of just my seed? I actually use as medicine and smoke very little so i liked it for the butter. in fact, i'm growing it now because my last batch of beans, not one is coming up so i had to plant old seeds and surprise, i still had a few of these... lol

I would go with the FS version as well. I am growing it now in a ten gal tub, and I expect 12oz.
The leaves are very slender and sativa looking. The smell is grapefruit and pineapple.
The serrations on the leaves are clearly defined and jagged.
I grew the Mosca version two years ago and hated it.
The FS pheno I got is the shit!
I have been looking for a C99 like this for awhile now. The guy i got it from grew out several of FS C99. He picked a great pheno and used CS on it and made his own S1s.
Best I've seen in my garden in a long time. I grow everything in peat/perlite soil-less mix.
This one has been force flowered outside and brought in the shed every 12 hours.
The one I have in my indoor flowering room should produce real heavy also. It's in a 5gal Homer bucket.

Notice the sharp edges on the leaves and the slender look? Here is the seed baby at two weeks in veg

Damn, nice job on the outdoor force flower! I did that one year, wow what a pain in my back...NICE results though, kinda hard to see but that looks like it's getting close to damn-near done? Can't tell from the pic but it looks like it's close

Yep, she's coming down this weekend. I used the wagon, because the ten gal tub weighs 80+ pounds lugging it about. I got the wagon after the first week of this.
I have smoked a sample bud and it's nice smoke! Not cured, just left a lower bud in the sun for a day.
I'll go get some bud shots, now that the rain has stopped. I had it on the patio the past two days.
4" of rain in an hour, and then it kept raining. This plant has endured massive hail storms, deluges of rain, Spider mites and aphids, and will still finish pretty green at the end. I caught the aphids riding on the blowing cotton from the Cottonwood trees. I sprayed her once at 4 weeks with Azamax, and she has rode it out well. No more bugs, once the cotton stopped blowing in July.
I used to go out and hose it off when the cotton got thick.
She will be 58 days old Sunday, and trichs are where i like them, and pistils are brown and receded.
Smoke report in a couple weeks

wow, spider mites too? that sucks, especially when you bring her in, the mites reproduce SO fast inside, I've never had an infestation of mites on an outside plant, not totally sure why, my theory is the don't PREFER cannabis, otherwise they'd infest outside more often, I think they are opportunistic feeders, which makes sense considering they aren't really that mobile. I mean one meter to a mite is like a 10K run to us or more

amen on the wagon, that was my buddy when I did it, I had 6 or 7 plants in 8 gallon buckets. the biggest thing for me was the bouncing colas, when I moved them, they'd sway around with their weight, and were so damn tall...
Meh, reminds me of when I lost a fat cola on my blue dream, damnit, thing split down the stem, and was toast
OHH I forgot a mass amount of catterpillars got me that year too! Fuckers... THOSE guys mean business!

I get them on my rose bushes. I found them in the cotton that was blowing all over.
Sometimes in June it piles in driveway edges and fences like snow. I think the mites are opportunistic and landed on the plant. nothing bothered it again after that.
