I just finished a grow with a Vipar V240 and CFL's. Just got another Vipar, the V300 to go beside the other one for the next grow, cfl's made it too hot in the tent.

I have one 100mm fan at half speed extracting through a carbon filter. No intake fan, I just left two 100mm vents open at the bottom of the tent and a couple of clip on fans for circulation. With the V240 and V300 side by side the temps were steady at 75f.

What are the yield like with this setup

Okay,

I have a typical "budget" conundrum...and I could use some input.
I'm going to be growing 2 or 3 auto's for personal in a small closet/tent (2x4x4).

I pretty much have my mind set on an Advanced LED Diamond Series 150W ($225)

http://www.advancedledgrow.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=33&product_id=51

but...

I'm being enticed by advertising and wondering if the Apollo Horticultures being offered by lowballer
on Amazon and e-bay would benefit me in the short term...

The 300W standard full spectrum panel: - ($199.75)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apollo-Horticulture-Full-Spectrum-300W-LED-Grow-Light-for-Plant-Growing-/190970136026?ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT

or the PurpleSun COB - 300W: - ($231)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apollo-Horticulture-Purple-Sun-COB-300W-LED-Grow-Light-for-Indoor-Plant-Growing-/191078462959?ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT

The reviews on the Apollo Horticultures are definitely a mixed bag...a couple pretty decent reviews on lowballer, himself.

Is this just a common scenario of "You get what you pay for"? or "If something seems to good to be true, it usually is"?

Like I said, I'm only growing 2 or 3 auto's at a time. Do I just pony up for the better quality/better rep and feel good about the quality of the DS 150W?
Or would the cheaper but higher wattage lights benefit my grow? I know wattage is only as good as the fixture's ability to transfer it to light and that the
complaint with cheaper panels is that the extra power just gets transferred to heat.

Someone set me straight.

Thanks

Should you find one that attracts/kills mosquitoes,PLEASE LET ME KNOW

I liked the fact that Kessil was using LEDs to successfully grow coral in aquariums.

I tried a few of the Home Depot and Walmart led light bulbs and found one interesting fact. The Walmart light attracts and kills gnats!

Hey geniuses,
What do you guys think about the Solar Storms vs new A51 150s?
I consulted a few and they said you should buy them and tell us!:)

Has anyone finished a grow with either yet? Personally, based on rep, I would go with the A51 over a new CLW. You know A51 stands behind their product and it's made to grow weed, which is what I use LED for. Having said that I really haven't checked out anything CLW wise in a while. I know they have a new generation of panels, but IDK, looks more of the same. Still, I guess ya can't judge a book by it's cover. Have you seen any really great CLW grows? I ask cause I never do.

No experience with the Solar Storm, but I'm two weeks away from flipping to 12/12 with my Area 51 SGS -160 and the plants seem to be doing very well so far.

First, none of the lights you listed will fully cover your 2x4 grow space.
Second, all of them are junk, this includes the Advanced light, because that is the bogus Advanced company, and not the real deal.
For your situation I would recommend two Area 51 RW-75's, or two Hans Panels, for best results.

Many here know I have long been a led student, after getting suckered on a R/B ufo 90 some 3.5 years ago.

I have played with a lot of off the shelf bulbs from HD/Lowes and bought 4ft @ 3000K x 16w tubes

I thought I would be doing something with A 51 but after long gaps in communication, I hooked up with BML Horticulture. All for the best, as I think these will be very special lights for us, and there's plenty of A51 grows already

The BML Spyder 600 covers 4 x 4. It uses OSRAM leds. Best is (if you know what you want) you can select our own spectrums! $1000. They are cutting down the Spyder 600 4ft spine for me. So once that's done, that too will be on its' way.

Two of their 3 ft light rails should arrive by tomorrow, to supplement my 2 ufo 90s. If you haven't already subbed, you can watch what BML brings to the table in my updates
