How do YOU think there doing?

I didn't know what you meant by air pruning so I did a quick search and this is what I found (for the sake of any others who also would like to know):

"Air pruning works by exposing the root tips to relatively dry air, causing the apical cells at the very tip of the root to dehydrate, or become air-pruned. This stimulates the growth of secondary roots that branch out from them within the growing media. These secondary roots spread throughout the container until they reach the sides and bottom where they get air pruned again, stimulating more root growth. The overall effect of this technique is the establishment of a well-developed root system that is spread evenly throughout the entire pot."

I mean, it makes total sense. I'm just curious as to how the pot itself air prunes the roots, if that's what you mean. Or if you're pruning the roots yourself in another way. I kinda really want to try those pots now lol
I am trying to get ahold of some contractors here locally because the material used for these pots is just a perforated moisture barrier(Dimple Drain Sheets). I should be able to get this from them cheaply. Then I will make my own nice and wide thats how these pots are supposed to be. As for bottoms, lids from my 5 gallon buckets will work. I'm hoping these contractors don't give me a hard time.

The design of the pot causes the roots to grow out horizontally and when they reach open air they get pruned by drying and just falling off and you know the rest because you read the article.

Floradrain is the brand name,

beginning to consider alternatives.

Hey Popcorn, hope you are doing well. It's been a while. I am sure the ladies are happy and healthy.

I picked up some clones the other day, decided to get myself a NYC Sour Diesel after seeing how good yours look.

Peace,
Cascadian

@Cascadian: Kush 1 month old:
photo 5.jpgphoto 4.jpgphoto 4 - Copy.jpgphoto 3.jpgphoto 3 - Copy.jpgphoto 2.jpgphoto 2 - Copy.jpgphoto 1.jpgphoto 1 - Copy.jpg
I don't know should I top them? I have never grown xmass-trees so don't know what to expect for yield from a naturally grown kush. I had to kill one because I took my eye's off Mr. Magoo for just a couple of min's and he pissed in one. 1hrs later and it fell over so I didn't even bother to try and save her as it would have surely hermi'd if it had survived.
I'll post pic's of the diesel later on. I flipped the diesel a couple of day's ago and two are flowering already, there going to be big plants and I hope they don't outgrow the tent.
I have been very reluctant from posting because of the law change(April 01) here in Canada and am paranoid. I will be legal until then but it's to be seen if the law will enforce this by checking in on card holders to make sure they destroyed their crops.

Heres the diesel:

Still a little droopy from the nute switch but there coming back fast. The burn you see came early(first couple of week veg) and I got that under control.

Yeah, I have had problems with my cat too. She is obsessed with the supersoil, I caught her jumping into the tub it is in one time. That was the last time she has been in the garage (she is always trying to sneak in). Pretty sure it is the blood meal thats in there.

I wasn't aware of the Canadian law changes, hope there is still time to reverse them. We are dealing with a similar situation in Washington, the state will now be getting tax revenue from recreational MJ so they are trying to throw medical under the bus. I wish you luck up there, and totally respect if you have to stop posting pics in your journal. Both the Kush and Diesel look great to me, I like the giant fan leaves on the NYC Diesel.

If it were me and I had at least 2 weeks before 12/12 I would probably top the Kush. But I think you said they could be prone to hermie so maybe flip them sooner and go untopped. I don't think your yield will suffer much untopped but that is just my opinion (another contentious issue lol). I don't know how much the sour diesel stretches, my purple diesel didn't much. If they do get a little too close to the light you could force them into the corners some, I think that is what I will need to do for the large jack herer and sweet n'' sour widow i have in the tent now, they are already as large as my plants were at harvest last time...

Magoo usually just sits in the tents but there be a bitch in the building somewhere and he can smell her. I'm not to worried about the LAW I don't think they're going to send cops kicking down doors. I read an article this morning about BC stating they don't think it will change anything at all

. Some of the fans on the diesel are big, they don't have stems anymore they have branches. I'm thinking of cutting some of them off. I'm thinking I'm going to just let the kush go another 2 maybe 3 weeks veg then flip, I want to see these plants natural. The diesel I think I over vegged them because they are a sativa and should stretch(I'm going to start supercroping)but I'll work it out.
Ya the kush is from a hermi already so I really don't want to stress them too much.

Here is some new pics,

The Diesel looks a bit rough but that was early burn and all the new growth is looking great. The last pic shows the stretch real good so far.

I saw this and had to take a pic. It's a native elementary school, teach em while they're young I guess:

I have to wonder why this guy's kush looks so different than mine: https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/811086-8-ball-kush-grown-under.html#post10303756
His:View attachment 3020269 Mine:photo 2 - Copy.jpgTen finger fan leaves, First time I saw that with my plants.

I am wondering what's wrong with them. I usually defoliate so I don't notice drooping and wrinkly fan leaves as I cut them off before they get that big but these plants(kush/diesel) I am growing all natural only taking off what's dead and I'm not topping. I think it's a humidity problem as I vent my tents constantly and my meter never goes past 10% humidity. I never gave humidity much interest as I didn't think it was that important. Time to buy some humidifiers and timers for my vent fans. 15 min intervals should be enough to let humidity and co2 to build up then a 5 min vent to cool the tent? I don't know.

Just read your entire thread, nice looking grows. I do have to protest you not providing some harvest shots :D

Hydro grows always impress me, then I realize I am too lazy to do anything but soil

Thank you. I will post harvest pic's this time. Indeed hydro produces large plants. I have my 10x10x10 tent now so my next grow will be in that tent with a ten site aeroponics rig. Still not sure what I am going to do with these 4x4 tents.

The NYC Diesel has been flowering for 2 weeks? now(some started early others later) and I just took pic's the other day but this morning I opened the tent and was very surprised. The bud's have exploded and are popping up everywhere and are almost all the same size so I think I am going to be very impressed with the yield. Here is some pic's.

Some of the fans have 13 fingers, never seen that before with this strain. Could be because they came from a hermi from the last crop?
I got my humidifiers this morning so I'll be sticking them in the tents sometime today. I hope it will help with the thin leave issue I am having.
Ya I love to grow as well and I find I like the veg stage the best because thats where all the work goes lol. When they flower it's just a waiting game for me at that point. When I flip I just can't wait to get the plants out and start a new crop.
